I've been living in the modern - current? - time for the past two years, and I finally decided that I need someone to explain something to me.
Why does television that isn't shows about cooking have so many ladies who wear....not very much? Is that something that people in the future like to watch?
Because it just seems disrespectful to me.

Wouldn't people get bored of listening to other people talk about food? It sounds sort of boring...and it'd just make you hungry, right? How would they keep people's attention?
[Tv still confuses her. Radio makes more sense.]
...the future is so weird...

[ Even the new host of the cooking show he likes seems to forget her skirt from time to time. ] Only reasonable explanation, kid. We made too many parachutes in our day and now the dames don't have enough for their dresses.

The skirts keep getting shorter and shorter, that's all I'm saying.

It's fashion, I'm sure they're perfectly happy with the state of their skirts.

My, but I'm tempted to devise a new distraction tactic when next I visit Midgard.
