Just because I've been here for years doesn't mean I want to play any of the City's games.

[Behold Ginny Weasley, sitting on some rocks at the beach (because obviously the beach party wasn't enough), the sleeves of her blouse rolled up and her vivid hair pulled back into a wind-tousled bun. She's been restless lately, she's been off exploring judging by the sunburn and the new smattering of freckles; but, most importantly, she's found a little something shiny in the sand, washed up with the waves.]

But like it or not—

[She exhales, lifts her wand and with it, a key levitating in the air because she's not stupid enough to touch it after all she's seen on the network.]

Anonymous, I have something of yours. [Then she cracks a bit of a grin.] Should I send it in person or by owl post? Does this mean I saved the day? Ten points to the City for making it appropriately Gryffindor-coloured.

[ooc; as per this event, the key has been found! it actually has no curse attached to it, so worry not.

[ Behold the wide-eyed look of Potterdom ignorance. ]

No owls, please. I'm on my way to come pick it up.

[ He's mostly spent the time to himself. Healing after the moon is a long affair and he hadn't wanted to burden her. As well as that, part of him feels almost guilty for abandoning the cabin and letting Derek Hale convince him into the caves.

Not that she'd know, of course. But he still feels guilty. ]

Are you all right?

Gryffindor. [She smiles, pleased.] It's something from my school. Red and gold, very brave and dashing, crest of a lion.

Then I'll stay right on the beach.

[Eyeing it as it floats in front of her.]

Does it do anything? The others seem to.

Nothing except for stop the crap that's been going on all week.

[Oh, she knew. She knew because she left the Trek beach party to check on him before moonrise and found the place empty. And she'd panicked, of course she had, because the last time Remus was in the City and spent the moon outside, he'd been killed. So, yes, she went looking; didn't find him, of course, been relieved when he came home, relatively in one piece.

And she hadn't said a word about any of it. She isn't his keeper. She just knows there's a grave in the City cemetery that had his name on it and it was her fault.]

Fine. [She looks him over, brows knit with concern.] How are you feeling?

I didn't even know curses could explode.

Yeah, join the club.

[He's hustling through some dim hallways...pushing through a door...]

Seems like that's another one of those "side effects" we're getting from trying to stop the things.

Hang on. I'll be there in a minute.

Nice to know the City's as feisty as ever.

[Dry, so dry.]

Are you taking a secret way to the beach? I thought the only way was the forest or the gateway thing.

What? No. I'm getting my bike. [Obvs!] So I can get there faster.

[He's outside now and he turns the Network device around to show...]

See? Bike.

[OKAY FINE. She had to hope there were some secrets like that, okay. Come on.]

Those seem to be popular round here.

[Sometimes you have to operate within the realm of typical physics. Alas. But there might still be some secrets elsewhere. Lots of caves on certain parts of the beach.]

Small, fast, don't require a lot of fuel, great for getting around in town. I dunno, kind of ideal.

You've still got that key, right?

[She's still in explorer-adventure mode, she might just stumble into certain things. Caves are good.]

I prefer my broom, but it's about the same, in a way. [At his question, she nods and plucks the key from the air since he said it wasn't cursed and given what's been happening, she's inclined to believe him on that. So she holds it up in front of the camera.] Right here. I'm not going to chuck it into the ocean, Tristero.

Restless. [ And a little like he's been taken several rounds with a bludger, but.

If he knew, he'd probably tell her. It's not like he wants to keep it a secret. But he's so used to things being different, the wolf being something to hide. ]

[Mind the remains of the rituals conducted down there...]

I'm just trying to be careful here. You lose that thing and I'm not really sure what we're gonna have to do.

[Putting on his helmet. Hey, he may be a radical revolutionary, but he'd like to keep on being one for a while longer. Helmet! (Also Dally told him it looked good on him once, so...)]

Hang on. It'll be hard to hear for a while.

[Revving the thing up up... Yeah, that's kind of a loud contraption. But he'll leave the feed open, as a pledge of good faith and...after a few minutes (the ride to the crossgate, the crossgate jump to the beach, &c), he'll be heading her way.]

You didn't tell me there were colors.

What, to being a Gryffindor?

[She starts laughing.]

Don't sound so offended, I just didn't think about it. Yeah, we're red and gold.

Yeah, I understand that.

[She gestures to the beach and rocks at large.]

Probably why I've been out here more than I've been home. I was going to bring back something for you, maybe some doughnuts? I expect you're tired of me shoving tea in your face.

[And so she waits, leaning up against the rocks and turning the little key over in her hands. It doesn't feel very remarkable, it doesn't seem like it's anything special. But that's what most magic is like, isn't it, it's always unexpected.

When she hears the roar of the motorbike, she switches off her device and looks up.]

[ He hopes he hasn't been the one to force her out. Maybe he'll ask at some point. ]

I don't mind the tea, it does help. [ It's kind and quiet and tired, like Remus as an adult. ] Not that I ever say no to pastries. Are you sure you don't want me to go and pick them up>

Is this the point where I ask what 'owl post' is?

[ he's looking amused, but he's really curious about her world. they've only shared little bits and pieces about each other ~~and he has no idea what kathryn's told her~~ and he definitely wants to know more. ]

I'm gonna say it means you saved the day. Just a guess.

[Thing won't drive on the sand and gravel nearer on to the water--he leaves it parked on more solid ground and trots over on foot.]
