First Howl + Video
[It starts with cursing, with some fumbling with the device: and this is why Peter never wanted Roman's fucking iPhone. Jesus fuck how do you get this thing to work?]
Yo.
[There's finally a wave of fingers, although it seems lackluster. Flat blue eyes set into a scruffy face as the image finally catches something more engaging than the floor swings into view. Oh, hey. He's in a pair of boxers that look a little overworn, and he's on the furry side for a teen boy as slender as he is. There's a stylized 'g' tattooed on the left side of his ribs.]
Does anyone have any smokes? I don't do charity, but I'll trade something for it.
[There is a pause, he seems like he's about to cut the feed, but there's a moment of hesitance that ends in mute cursing. He doesn't care, none of this fucking matters. Fuck this place.]
And pants. I guess.

[But she looks amused by the candor he throws her way.]
Re: video;
[Hey, she's an attractive redhead. His heart might still be a bit too recently eviscerated for anything like flirtation, but, it does warm his expression a little bit. He's not showing off, per se, but he definitely doesn't seem bothered by people seeing him in his boxers.]
video;
[Don't worry, Peter, she's just a little sassy.]
But hello, I'm Ginny Weasley. Just slightly a stranger, now.
video;
[But, he smiles, because hey, he'll take it. It's rather nice to not have the typical dirty gypsy getting tossed around just yet.]
Peter Rumancek. Interesting place here.
video;
[She grins back.]
Hi, Peter. Aren't you cold?
video;
[There's a glint to his eyes, casual, and while he's not cold, shirtless though he might be, he's probably pulling her leg about the body temperature thing. Although, Peter is one of those people where it's usually hard to tell.]
video;
[Because she went to Romania to visit her brother and he's worked with Romani on the dragon reserve and she remembers one with incredible metalworking skills, too, and she's fairly certain her brother fancied her.
My headcanon, let me show you it.]So I suppose I shouldn't offer you a jumper or anything.
video;
[Yeah, this relates to that reference about strangers and insults.
Also your headcanon is beautiful, let me touch it.]I dunno, I'm not sure I have the legs for one.
[Sorry, Ginny, he's a gypsy, but he's also American.]
video;
[Then she raises an eyebrow.]
You lot call them sweaters.
video;
[Okay, so, he might be kind of biased. His cousin Destiny would never use the label witch, per se, but she did real magic, and that was good enough for Peter. At the mention of sweaters, he shakes his head.]
Damn things get too hot.
video;
You've got witches in your world?
no subject
[He's watching, gauging her reaction, because there's more he could say, but he's still trying to work out how far to trust her, how much to tell. Peter loves his cousin, and there's a certain thrill to the fact that she did real magic, though she'd probably beat him if she heard him call her a witch -- she'd say it was bad for business.]
So, what are witches like in your world?
no subject
[Private Video]
Well, fuck. Whatever. He's going to fumble for a moment before locking the feed.]
I don't have it, but my cousin does. I mean, she doesn't use a wand or ride a broomstick or anything, but, she can make potions. Knows way more than I do about the laws of magic and supernatural bullshit, and, yeah, she does magic.
[Private Video]
[It's magic. She will always want to talk about magic, know what it's like in other worlds, see and understand if she can. She wonders if it isn't openly practiced in his world, if he's locking their conversation to speak about it—and that saddens her, a bit, to know there are other worlds that might not accept it.]
Is it a secret in your world, too?
[Private Video]
[Peter shrugs his shoulders. He's gonna leave it at that.]
[Private Video]
It isn't easy in any world, Peter. Brooms or no brooms.
[Private Video]
[And there's a sick sense to how he says it like he's talking about so much more than what he's actually said, a slice of pain before it vanishes behind a glib smile. His shoulders tense and he exhales, raking fingers through his hair, twisting it in his fingers for a moment.]
So, broomsticks, hunh? Does that come with a pointy hat?
[Private Video]
Only when school requires us to be in full uniform.
[The smile she flashes back is just as broad and smooth, she could almost be taking the mickey, except she isn't; there's truth to her words, to the ease with which she fires back that answer.]
They're much too formal for daily wear.
[Private Video]
[He lets the amusement curl easily across him face, as if it can wipe out that sudden drop moments before. It amuses him, just because he knows that tone, he knows the way he'd talk about being a gypsy, truth that sounded like lies and lies that sounded like truth.]
Hey, if you're a witch, can you make charms and shit like that?
[He had no clue what he could do to pay her back, but he'd figure something out. Truth was that no place felt like home without the protection charm Destiny made for them once and Peter and Lynda hung up no matter where home happened to be. So maybe...]
[Private Video]
[The hats are terrible, Peter, don't even play.
She raises her brows at the question, unsure what he could mean solely because magic and witches could be different across worlds. Can she do charmwork? Yes, but she doubts he wants her to make a feather fly. Ginny cocks her head to the side, replying,]
I can do charm spells. Transfiguration, offensive and defensive magic, it all depends on what needs to be done. Why?
[Private Video]
He shrugs his shoulders, and not for the first time questions the wisdom in how much he's telling her. But, she admitted to being a witch, and it's not like he's talking about being a werewolf
yet.]My cousin made me this charm, was just some sort of protection spell, and I dunno. Doesn't really feel like home without something like that.
[Peter scratches fingers at the back of his neck because he doesn't like connecting with people, telling people things that aren't wild stories and bullshit.]
[Private Video]
I've never made protective amulets, though I've seen them sold. [Whether or not they worked, well, considering her father wanted to arrest the peddlers...] I could put wards on wherever you live; it's not the same, but it could offer the same sort of protection if that's what you're looking for.
[Private Video]
That'd be... pretty great, yeah, actually. I don't know what I could trade for it. With Destiny I used to just bring her chocolate.
[He grins, but it's a little sad too.]
[Private Video]
[And if the charm bit means so much to him, she can pick up a little something just for the sense of it. She is nothing if not thoughtful.]
You're close with her, then?
