[At the Casino, in theory, Theo should be running his card table, but he's been radiating DEATH and DESTROY EVERYTHING so "loudly" that people have been avoiding it. And Meyer appears to have vanished. So he's nursing a drink at the bar and glowering at people.]

[Meyer's confused. It's like he's lost a whole day somewhere, and he has no idea what had happened. There's only one thing to do in a time like that -- go to work and try to ignore reality. As soon as he steps into the casino, though, he can practically feel Theo glowering. He raises an eyebrow.]

I've had no caffeine of any sort in two days.

[Meyer probably realizes that while some people are a few drinks shy of being sober, Theo is a few drinks shy of being able to deal with people. He usually is drinking something with caffeine at least once a night. He managed to be barely pleasant yesterday. Today....]

[He remembers the curse where he couldn't get any cigarettes with a sinking feeling. Theo is very likely cursed. Even if Meyer could bring him coffee, he somehow wouldn't be able to drink it.]

And I managed to only really hurt one person, yesterday so I think I'm doing pretty good.

[As much as he may want a cup of coffee himself, he's not about to drink one in front of Theo and make things worse, so he crosses to the bar and looks for something else.]

Herbal tea has no caffeine whatsoever in it, and that's what I intend to have.

[Currently he sounds like he hates everything and will kill you all. And that herbal tea is an abomination unto his father.

One of Theo's rats is cowering among the bottles.]

[He doesn't sound particularly perturbed by Theo's grumpiness. He's seen worse. At the moment, he's simply fixing them both of a cup of tea, whether or not Theo wants one. Herbal tea has calming properties, after all.]

This will all be over with tomorrow.

[He's been simmering. Also, Meyer is really reminding Theo of his sister in law right now. Which is really making funny pictures in his head. Because Meyer in a flouncy skirt and lacy top really don't go well together in his head.

He studies the image in his mind briefly and then shudders.]

I know. I went without cigarettes for two days, due to a similar curse.

[He sets a cup of tea on the table for Theo.]

The tea cup is held but not drunk. Possibly to have something in his hands.]

I did stab someone in the chest once after been without coffee for three days. He lived. Which was good.

[This is said perfectly seriously. And he's not kidding.]

Well. The girl who stole it is in jail and says that she gave it to some other girl named Rowena.

Rowena apparently doesn't exist.

[Oh, look, he's lighting up a cigarette. That didn't take long.]

Rowena may be a pseudonym, of course. Someone who had an interest in getting ahold of your knife but didn't want to reveal their true identity.
