Should there be anyone still lost in the sand and in need of aid, I would like to offer my services.

I understand there are a number of desert-dwelling creatures with less-than-favorable dispositions out here and I believe my water magic may be of some use with such beings.

I suppose, in a way. If a weapon were made to be a gift.

It was a means to defend myself and my friends.

Oh. Gosh. I guess that's a really good thing to have.

I wish I'd had something like that.

You were involved in a war, my lady?

Sort of?

The demons and angels were always fighting on the streets - even though most people didn't know it.

It was hard to keep the little ones safe.

I... I had to do some bad things to try and help them.

And gosh, I'm really not a lady. I'm just Rain.

Demons and angels...

Still...sometimes bad things must be done to make things good again. I admit I have done my share of bad. War does that.

And I apologize; I only meant to be polite. If you would prefer, I will call you Rain.

Oh gosh, it's not like you were rude or anything.

I just... I know I'm not a lady, so I don't deserve to get called something like that.

One does not need to have the formal title to have the qualities. Besides, 'Madam' does not suite someone of your youth.

I think I'd better stick with just Rain.

Are you stuck in the desert too?

It appears I am.

Are you in a safe place currently?

Sort of?

I'm hiding from the bad monsters.

Hiding? Do you require assistance?

I could come dispatch them for you, if you tell me where you are.

[livingmyths]

I don't even know where I am. There's just sand and sand and sand.

But if I stay very still and quiet, the Bad Things leave me alone.

There are no distinguishing features around you?

I cannot leave you alone to hide from them.

Oh gosh, don't worry about me.

There are probably important people you could help.

When it's dark and they're quiet, I'll run away and hide somewhere else.

You are no less important than anyone else I could help.

But...if you are certain...there is a place of safety that you should search for.

You're a very nice person to say that.

Okay. Where should I try to go?

I speak the truth.

I don't know if directions would mean anything in a desert, but the deities have established a sort of 'safe area' near where the old City used to be. Monsters don't attack there.

Okay. I think I can get there.

Will you be there, too?

I will be there as soon as I am positive there is no one who requires my assistance.

You can always come find me at the Library after. I'm usually working there.

Or up on the roof taking care of the plants in my greenhouse.

Or in my house in the woods. But that's hard to find if you don't know the way.

I will search for you. I must ask you what sort of plants you tend to when there is less danger about.

Oh gosh. Any kind.

Mostly ones with flowers, but I also have some vegetables and herbs and just things that smell good or look pretty.

I would love to see them sometime.

A dear friend of mine liked to tend to plants as a hobby and it would be nice to see some plants from another world.

[livingmyths]

I'm easy to find. My greenhouse is just up on the roof of the Library.

Pretty soon when it gets warmer I can move some of the plants outside.
