My direwolf. Her name's Nymeria, like the warrior-queen.

[And on her end, Ginny can't help but smile a bit, impressed.]

I don't know what a direwolf is, but anything named after a warrior-queen sounds brilliant to me. You really mean to trade for her?

It's like a normal wolf, only bigger and stronger. I think they're cleverer, too.

But you do know what goes into a deity trade, don't you?

It doesn't matter. It's not forever.

[A pause. Merlin, she sounds young, and she's off making trades with deities. Even Ginny's not done that.]

No, I suppose it isn't. I've heard they aren't. [But the prices...] But I'd imagine your wolf's worth it, isn't she?

She'll make it stop ticking. I like her better than dogs. [And her wolf dreams will come back again.]

My old roommate had a dog, but he was a little, yappy thing. I'd imagine I'd like something bigger, but as it is, I've just got my owl and a kitten.

[And a Pygmy Puff, but that takes some explaining.]

You could get a bigger one. I think dogs only don't like cats if they weren't pups when they met them.

I'd love one, but I reckon I've already got my hands full with my lot. You wouldn't think an owl makes a demanding pet, but Sir Weatherby can be very dramatic.

[It's a joke, of course. Sir Weatherby's about as mild-mannered as his original owner, but even Dumbledore had his moments. Ginny is sure of it.]

And I've not had Helena nearly long enough to know how she is with him, so I suppose I'm stuck for now. [She pauses, then adds:] I'm Ginny, by the way. Ginny Weasley.

I'm Arya. [She'll leave out her last name. The only reason she's using her real first name is because Bran's here, but even so she isn't comfortable revealing more than she thinks she has to.]
