001 ♕ Video
[When the video turns on, the screen is streaked with water. The indignant gasps of a young woman sputtering as the image lifts - whomever it is, they apparently woke up in the fountain and are none too pleased about it.]
--- can't believe this, what the hell
[More movement, and it's evident that the young woman is soaking wet and none too pleased about it. Finally though, the device is turned upward so that a redhaired, green eyed young woman with lips pressed together tightly in dismay stares down at it.]
Where am I?

It's Lydia.
[ He swallows what he's chewing and picks up the device, his face coming into view. ]
Lydia! Hey. [ A furrowed brow. ] You were dropped in the fountain. [ King of the obvious: Scott McCall ]
Re: video ]
Well, maybe a little bit.
But Lyds has her pride.]
Yes. And news flash, water is wet.
I don't know where I am. This is not Beacon Hills.
[Queen of the Obivious: Lydia Martin. (The crown looks more stylish on her, anyway.)]

I do. Stay there. Don't move. [ He gets up, running away from the screen -- ceiling comes into view and then his face returns. ] Well, get out of the fountain. I can bring a towel. Or, two. [ And he's up again. This time for a little bit longer. The sound of a door opening, closing and then Scott picks the device up, looking down at her. ] I'll be there in five minutes. Just - stay there.
[ He offers a hopeful closed-mouth smile. ]

So where are we, anyway?
[Starting this conversation while Scott is en route saves her from thinking about the fact that she is alone, and scared, and dripping wet in the middle of a completely foreign place.]

It's called the City. Think of it like a universe parallel to ours. Deities were given the job to bring us here and mess with us and we can't leave. It's like a dimensional pocket.

I've had better days. But Scott is coming to get me.

[At this rate she's gonna end up housing half the population of Beacon Hills.]

Lydia?

[She sounds a bit relieved.]
It's okay. I'm on my way to Scott's house and then we're going to some party where I'm going to get very drunk and deal with all of this tomorrow.
no subject
[He seems quite surprised.]
You're uh, dealing with this pretty okay?
no subject
Sorry. A lot of people have been pinging me and asking the same questions. Trust me, I seem calm but I'm gonna go to this party Scott's taking me to and drink my feelings.

[ Despite how much has changed, Stiles still has a pretty quick reaction to seeing his favourite strawberry blonde something in the City. So his grin is a little wired and whacky and the background blurs as he sits upright.
She fell in the fountain.
Lydia Martin fell in the fountain. ] Lydia. Hey, so don't panic. But you're in the City. I know, stupidly unoriginal. Where are you?
no subject
On the way to Scott's apartment.
[There's a pause, like she has to brace herself, and then,]
Hi, Stiles.
[Stiles from a year ago. Before the alpha pack. Before the darach. Vefore his dad was taken. Stiles before they started effectively functioning like a pair of amateur detectives from a 50's dimestore novel.
She's not sure how long she's going to be able to keep it from him.
He may find her tone a shade less diffident, less disinterested, than Lydia he knew a year ago. But still Lydia of course.]
Yeah, 'The City'. Scott's been explaining to me. I'm going to change, go to this party with him, and drink.
A lot. Will you be there?
no subject
[ Of course she is, because she's Lydia Martin and nothing - not even a multiverse city - is going to stop her. ] Yeah, Ginny's a friend of mine.
no subject
[Admit it Lyds, you're banking on Stiles being the one to hold your hair when you puke in a toilet.]

The landing in the fountain thing?

Got a stack of towels on standby for anyone who wants one. [ It's an indirect offer, but it's an offer all the same; he's not actually being sarcastic. ]
no subject
[This seem like an optimal solution to her.]
