[That little explosion of feelings comes from a particularly upset looking brunette, clad in only a bath towel with another one wrapped around her head turban-style, standing in the middle of an apartment building hallway. Which one? Doesn't matter. She just walked through a door and that's all that she wrote, kids.]

What, third time's the charm? I like--liked--some of you and your faces, but really, this whole back and forth, forth and back thing here got tired after the first time. And as much as I can't see naked people as naked anymore, I would love it if I got a shirt and some shoes or I probably won't be getting any service.

Yeah... [Her voice trails off when she recalls something Ginny told her not too long before Jimmy showed up.] I co-owned the shop with her, but I don't remember that.

You did? Which shop?

[Angela sounds unsure about the name like she is about everything else that involves it.]

I work at her other one. You don't sound like you remember co-ownin' anythin', though.

I don't remember the shop at all.

[She doesn't even remember the face of the man who left it behind for her. His name is still on her lips, but she can't bring up how the lines of his jaw came together or the color of his eyes.]

That's odd. D'you know how long you were gone from the City?

[thenormalsquint]

Ginny said it was a year?

[trenchknives]

'n how long for you, back home?

[thenormalsquint]

I don't know. I remember leaving, but when I got back home, I just didn't remember here.

[It was only a few months, but time works weird when you're bouncing around dimensions.]

[trenchknives]

Yeah, y'know, I don't know how the hell any of that works, really. I just know it's fucked up.

Another thing I don't suspect Anonymous will figure out.

They ain't gonna figure out much of anythin'. Figures we're kinda stuck tryin' to do it ourselves.

Sorry to be so pessimistic. I should probably, y'know, stop botherin' you 'n let you get settled in.

[She smiles back, more friendly and genuine.]

If you were bothering me, I wouldn't hesitate to let you know after you gave me the shirt. Besides, it's not like I have anywhere to go.

[In which Angela means in greater terms like an apartment, a place to crash. There's the Welcome Center which she'll take advantage of tonight and until she gets a steady flow of money, but it's a home.]

Yeah, I guess that's true, huh. I stayed in the Welcome Center for a damn long time after I got here, I gotta say. Y'know, there're probably people here that remember you that'd offer you an apartment to stay in, though.

If they have space. [She shrugs off the rest of the sentence, and if they want roommates as well. It's been a long while. People can change.] I don't want to impose.

Guess I can understand that. It's why I live alone -- figured it was better'n trynna find someone who might get sick of me.

[Which is... most people.]

But doesn't the tick-- [Now that's weird. Before he showed up, Angela doesn't remember hearing the clock.] Wait, where's the clock?

[trenchknives]

Well, yeah, I guess it did get to me sometimes, but I made sure to go 'n see a lotta people.

[He's a sociable guy, isn't it obvious?]

As for the clock, well... it ain't exactly been workin' too well lately.

[You mean a guy who gets into trouble a lot.]

That's not good.

No, it ain't, but it kinda makes me hope they're workin' on gettin' us out of here.

[thenormalsquint]

I hope so too.

[She doesn't really, not too trusting of people who won't give out their names of identities, but she isn't the type to pop other people's hope bubble. They all need something to hold onto and even if Jimmy only half believes them, that's more than nothing.]

[It's kind of strange, her having the same name as his fiancee, but it's kind of nice, too. Maybe that's why there's a smile in his voice as he says it and turns to head back to his apartment. Or maybe it's just because he likes her.]
