My people have been given the run of the City Labs via my authority, Captain James Kirk of the USS Enterprise, at the discretion of the anonymous faction that rid the City of its former captors.

That means anyone who wants to get some actual work done can report here to sign up for the Starfleet Program. Physicists, engineers, sciences, medicine if you're interested in expanding your field — all the sections are going to be geared toward improving our technology and getting us out of here. I've had a look around and for twenty-first century restrictions, it's not too bad. Let me know who you are and what you specialize in, so I can keep track of who's going to be coming and going from the facility. You don't have to be a member of Starfleet to sign up for a job, but it's not exactly light work and if you're not a fan of doing things the hard way, I wouldn't bother. We might have to try building our own equipment from scratch, for that matter.

Oh, and does anyone know where I can get a cheap motorcycle from? Thanks. Also, Stiles, I've got some free time if you do.

That depends on all of us. We need to share information and not hide it from the eyes of those who know what they're doing, if someone says they know how to improve equipment then they can have at it as far as I'm concerned. It can't possibly set us back any further than we already are.

That's why I pushed for this, Mr. Lansky, so people can perform admirably whether they arrive with the means to or not.

Is the anonymous faction that's given you the City Labs simply funding this experiment, or are you answering directly to them, as well? How much authority do they have over your program?

Sounds like we're answering to them. It's better than nothing, considering they're the one calling all the shots in the City. [ Pausing. ] They expressed every intention of wanting to assist us.

I doubt you need the advice, but I'd be inclined to be... careful around them.

Y'know, I've been thinking about putting together a motorcycle again and I'm not sure I can make it spokeless like the last one I had. I wouldn't turn down a little help fixing up one that runs on fossil fuel.

Maybe, I'm gonna see what a guy called Chase can dig up for me first. I'll take the choice parts from whatever I can, wouldn't be my first time jimmying spares into one vehicle. You're a motor enthusiast?

In a manner of speaking. I like knowing how things work -- taking things apart, putting them back together. Cars and motorcycles're good for that.
