[Naoi begins this video looking calm, at least from the neck up. Below that? His shoulders are quivering, his crossed arms look like they're rather badly attempting to quell the shaking, but shiver from the effort. As if not noticing, he carries on in a calm, even tone:]

... so, if one were to desire to get in touch with the new regime, how would one go about doing so?

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

Also, does the City have any— non-hypothetical, of course— translating services that go beyond the scope of this little device?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I learned several languages of the various kingdoms round Ylisse, but I have yet to hear anyone speak them here. I wish I could be of more use outside of that. May I ask what you need it for?

[ Come to think of it... she hadn't realized that they all had adopted some kind of common tongue when they should be speaking different languages. How strange. She hadn't been conscious of it before. ]

... kingdoms? Yi—Erizzu? What use could I have— no, I'm not sure if any languages spoken only in your home world would be of any help... wait, do they have scripts? What do they look like?

[ She's noticed the lack of a "please," and she frowns at him. ]

I'm not your subject to order around. If I help you, it's because there is a good and valid reason behind it. If you won't tell me what it is, then I must rescind my offer.

If I tell you, I'll doom us all.

[He's exaggerating, a little bit, but he does have a bit of a point there!]

Write. [Aaaand those eyes are shifting colour again— quickly blocking the screen is recommended! (Because he can't really do much if she can't see his eyes.)]

[ She remembers the trick from last time, and she quickly shields the screen with her hand, looking elsewhere. ]

I won't fall for the same trick a second time. It might benefit you more to handle these things more civilly and simply tell me your intentions rather than manipulating me again into doing your bidding.

[This earns a short laugh from him and he ends the attempted hypnosis, before resuming seriously, although the sound might be muffled some by her hand.]

It means I'm talking about something too important to be discussed over this unreliable machine. I cannot tell you what it is for a multitude of reasons.

[ Her eyes narrow at the sound of his laugh, but she's still keeping her gaze away just in case. ]

But you're drawing suspicion by introducing the topic like that then not explaining it further. Whatever you're attempting to achieve is not going to get much further like that.

What are you talking about? There is nothing suspicious about this at all. [His delivery suddenly becomes hollow and wooden, like he's reading off a script or trying very hard not to let anything slip, and unnoticed to him, he's started to shake again, as in the original video post.]

I said nothing. Nothing about the nature of what I want translated. It could be something shamefully personal. You don't know. Nobody knows. [More trembling. Really, what's that about?]

[ This must be what her father feels like when he's talking to some of his more eccentric shepherds. Is he really that lacking in self-awareness? ]

Speaking like that is even more cause for suspicion. Are you really having that much trouble noticing it?

[ She peers closer at the screen. Is he shaking...? ]

[Yes. He's just that blind to it.]

Noticing what? [The tremors are gone, just as quickly.

He doesn't even say anything to the addressed concern, just staring at the communicator.] ...

You keep acting stranger and stranger. It doesn't alleviate my concerns one bit. Would you be more willing to tell me what you're trying to conceal were we to meet in person?

[ Or is he going to leave her wondering. She has a feeling he's going to do something else reckless and dangerous. ]

[And she would be absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, correct on all accounts.]

Very well. If that's what it takes-

[ She'll be sure to come armed just in case. ]

Where should I meet you?

My apartment situated at [x,y]. I realize this sounds suspicious, but it's the only place I trust not to be overheard in.

Also, I promise I won't try to hypnotize you or pick a fight, so don't worry.

[He pauses for a moment, looking thoughtful, before setting down his communicator (onto a wooden surface by the sound of it), before taking out his pistol. He removes the magazine.]

This— [He rattles it.] is what makes guns dangerous. [He sets aside the magazine, beside the communicator. He empties his second gun similarly. He takes one of the empty guns and points it at the communicator and dry fires. It does nothing but make a useless clicking sound.]

There, you see? [He smiles.] I'll leave the guns, empty and useless, on the table for the entirety of your visit, as a service to you. Be grateful. [Very proudly stated.]

[ She supposes that's the best she can ask for, for now. She isn't sure she feels entirely secure even with his guns empty, but she has her sword on hand anyway. She can retaliate if she must and if she's pushed to that end. She finally nods and looks him squarely through the device. ]

Thank you for the consideration, but it's not needed. I hope to master a proper defense against your weapons soon.

[ And the only way she can do that is by practicing against it when she has the chance. ]

I will meet your at your apartment within a few minutes.

[ She gives him a final nod before turning off the device and venturing out to find him. It doesn't take long for her to locate him and knock on his door, still feeling tense and suspicious. Her hand hovers near Falchion just in case, fingers grazing the edge of the hilt. ]

I've arrived.

You really want to get in contact with them? I bet they're no different than the last bunch.

I've got something they'd probably find very interesting.

I know someone who knows a bunch of languages. What kind of translating services do you need?

[His shaking has quelled by the time of his answer.]

... good. The languages that person knows, you wouldn't happen to recognize their writing systems, would you?

It's... unlike any language I've ever seen before.

Of course. Why wouldn't I be.

[That delivery couldn't be less convincing if it were on purpose; oh, the shaking's started up again... maybe it's linked to what he's saying?]

I don't think so. I'm pretty terrible at everything that isn't English, but my friend's basically a genius.

You're--you were shaking. You're doing it again.

[When she brings up the shaking, he blinks as if he hadn't expected it, crossing his arms more tightly. With effort, the shaking quells, a bit more slowly.] It's... never mind.

That's alright, I've never really had to deal with English this much before either... just Japanese. [That's why he prefers the communicator, even if it's very different from what he's used to; he needs the translations!]

Great, I'm going to need all the help I can get... maybe I should make more copies. It's a little bit hard copying a script I don't understand.

[... yes, he is implying he's doing it by hand. Somebody tell the poor guy about the existence of copiers.]

Oh. Okay, if... okay. [Far be it for Penny to foist concern off on someone who doesn't want to admit that someone's wrong.]

Is that what you usually speak? Japanese? I wish I could help. I really don't know anything but English.

Why do you need to understand it to copy it? I'm sure there's a scanner or something you could use, if you want to.
