It is impossible not to be excited by the prospect of visitors that we know.
[Jem is seated near the fountain and his silver eyes are bright with hope.]
Is there anyone here who has never had a visitor from home, since they've been here?

Well, hopefully you're not going to count yourself in that, Carstairs.
Re: ( v i d e o )
Will, where are you? I can't see past your elbow.

Finding you may take some time.

I must hasten to assure that this the normal entire of girls here.
[Jem is standing up and trying to locate the gaggle of girls.]
Don't worry, I will come and rescue you from them

In fact, I think I'm more than capable.

[And Jem is being selfish. It's been months since he's seen Will. He hasn't been away from him for this long since they first met at the Institute.]
Please William, I...haven't seen you in awhile.

I need to look for a fountain, don't I?

[ Jem Carstairs in one piece. He hadn't expected to see him, nor be so suddenly whisked back into a world full of memories. Music and books and blue eyes that caught his soul on fire.
He tries not to think of Will. He tries not to think of anyone. ]

You look comfortable in modern clothes.

[ He has no doubt that some sort of time travel is involved here. Jem is not a Silent Brother. Nor is he heartbroken. So he simply smiles. ] It's been a long time. How did you end up here?
no subject
[Jem smiles.] I am getting used to the idea of different time periods.
I was chasing a giant worm when I ended up here.

[Jem can't help smiling. He shouldn't be surprised that the warlock has survived the hundred years.]
They are here with me in the city.

Isn't there anyone you were close to at home?

[Doth protest...?]

If they do not, perhaps I could take you for coffee once the guests depart?

[On and on and on.]
Can I get a big one?

[He smiles]
I believe I can stretch to buying you an extra large one.
Video
Jem?
[The images looks like him, but it's almost too much to hope for after everything that has happened to them.]
Is that really you?
Re: Video
He doesn't try to restrain the joy in his voice.]
It is me Tessa. You've arrived at a place, far in the future. Don't worry too much, the people here are generally friendly.
Video
How... Did Magnus find a way to help you? Are you really alright?
[Her shock quickly fades as common sense takes over and Tessa looks away from the device to study her surroundings. She'll deal with the strangness of this all once she's with Jem again.]
How do I find you?
Re: Video
I am really alright.
[The smile comes back.]
What can you see? I am well enough to come and collect you. I don't want you to get lost.
Re: Video
[There'd been so much blood and the realization that the truth she had been so carefully avoiding could no longer be ignored. But whatever miracle this is, Tessa will accept it... for now at least. She wonders at how he avoided her question about Magnus but once they can see each other face to face, perhaps everything will become clear.
Looking around, she finds a few landmarks that she hopes that Jem will recognize so that he might find her quickly, and describes them to him.]
Please hurry.
Re: Video -->
[Jem flicks the device off and tucks the cane under his arm. It does not matter that this will cause him a little pain. He needs to see Tessa's face again. To touch her cheek and hold her. He needs to make the most of the extra time he's been given.
Three minutes later, he's running up the street towards her. He's thin, and the old shadows are around his eyes, but those silver eyes are sparkling, still full of life.]
Tessa.
[And then he's taking her hand.]
See, I am still whole.
