The 84th Song
...huh. You know, with everything that's been going on this month...heck, everything this past week, I totally forgot about my birthday. Guess with everything that's been happening, doing birthday stuff was sort of secondary.
Still, I think I'm gonna bake cupcakes or something, while the day is quiet and curse free. Goodness knows that won't last...!
Almost three years here...three years, three birthday...and still no floating lanterns. Ah well.

[ She smiles faintly before feeling a small stab of guilty. ]
...Forgive me. Had I known sooner, I might have prepared something better, but I do hope your day is spent without trouble or incident.

...If you wish to help me, I am thinking of putting together a traditional Japanese ceremony for those who have left the City. No such rites seem to be done...and it does involve lanterns, but they float on the water instead of in the air. They are released into a river as a guidepost for spirits and for the remembrance of those who are gone.
What do you think?
