I'm missing books. Not all of them, but enough of them that I can tell, though I'm not sure what all of them were. Not in the shop-- or maybe there too, but it's harder to tell-- but from our shelves at home.

I don't think it can be a curse, really, after the weekend, but I think maybe those things took them.

Is that crazy? I don't know anymore when something is, I think.

I really hope I get them back, though.

The City isn't like most places, though. Maybe that's what you need to do wherever you're from, but it doesn't seem quite right.

Nah. I mean back home, they're really out to get me. So, I'm not very interested in putting down my guard here.

And some of us are powerful enough to make them worried, I'm sure.

But life in the City is... Well, its own world. It doesn't matter what you were or might have been at home. It's a chance to change everything you want to change.

I don't think the Deities are honestly worried about any of us, or they wouldn't have brought us here. Anyone here who could overthrow them would probably have found their way home already.
