one. [vidya | action]

Well hello, City. [Inigo is seated at a table at an outdoor café, the device propped against a salt shaker. He gives the screen a smile and a tiny salute.] I do hope I’m using this thing correctly, otherwise I’m about to feel at least ten degrees of stupid in the very near future. But it pains me to imagine such a pretty girl would steer me false! Even if she did seem a bit preoccupied…I don’t necessarily object to brisk treatment, mind, but the details are everything.

[ TEA BREAK. This tea is delish.]

Now, where was I?

[Pause. Pauuuuuuuse.]

Ah! My name is Inigo. It isn’t often that I find myself whisked away to strange new lands with nary a warning- and by often I mean mostly never, and by mostly I just mean never. Unless time travel counts.

Regardless! [Gosh, this tea is so great.] I could use some company, and there must be a lovely lass out there who wouldn’t mind a cup of tea with old Inigo?

Ah, you must have scanned the Network before posting here, because you knew this was the City, and you seemed reasonably acquainted. Pardon my mistake.

Very well -- I certainly will not turn down a nice cup of tea.
Nonetheless, we should at least be introduced before I try to meet you, yes? Otherwise I will be searching for someone I can't even identify.

I am Shikieiki Yamaxanadu. And yourself?

[Ah. A womanizing type, eh? Also, were he of her culture, insisting on shortening her name without even using proper suffixes would be quite irreverent, but she isn't fazed at all and completely understands. He's quite charming for a mortal, though she isn't going to fall for anything, and for now she will focus on helping him get used to this place.]

Welcome, Inigo-san. And yes, you may shorten my name if you wish; it seems to be difficult for many here.

Ah, my apologies.

-san is a suffix in my culture, appended to names as a marker of general respect and polite conduct. It is a habit here, as while the City seems to have no such convention, it is something I used in my world.

Where shall I meet you?

Ah! I recognize this place. I will meet you there soon.

If your culture does not lend itself to such practices, I will not consider you crass for not using them, but if you do wish to, Shiki-sama would be the appropriate one for me. ...I do not usually advertise, though this ends up getting out one way or another, so I may as well be through with it: I am a god in my world, so the suffix changes.

[A friendly faint smile and dismissive wave.]

Again, I don't insist on it.

Yes. There are other such beings here, but unfortunately, we have no particular influence here beyond any powers we brought to the City with us.

[She's heading toward his location now.]

Are you a human, then? I do not like to assume such things, as many in my world who are not, look human.

You look fine, and your conduct is quite charming. [This gets a little wider smile out of her, and her eyes crinkle as if she is just about to laugh, but not quite.]

Many gods are particular about superficial matters, but I am not. I am not worshiped at a shrine, nor do I have festivals in my honor, or any such. I am a quiet god -- a quiet person -- and I only insist that those with whom I converse be honest and kind of heart. Perhaps it sounds trite, but I look past the surface, because that is my work as a Yama, a god of spiritual judgment.

[Before he can freak out about that part -- humans tend to flinch at least a little at the prospect of judgment -- she holds up a finger to politely silence him for the addendum:]

But I prefer to speak rather than to smite. Don't worry about that.

Is Inigo your given name or your surname?

I tend to address others formally, and in my world, we often do so for strangers. If you wish me to call you by your given name, I will; some here prefer that. Simply let me know which one is more appropriate to you.

[A smile. He's so nervous!]

Don't worry, please. I mean you no harm.

[ooc: Hey, you're awesome and fun to RP with, especially since Inigo has dropped in on her thread. :) What messenger/etc. do you prefer to use for player chat? We should plan things ^^]
