Well hello, City. [Inigo is seated at a table at an outdoor café, the device propped against a salt shaker. He gives the screen a smile and a tiny salute.] I do hope I’m using this thing correctly, otherwise I’m about to feel at least ten degrees of stupid in the very near future. But it pains me to imagine such a pretty girl would steer me false! Even if she did seem a bit preoccupied…I don’t necessarily object to brisk treatment, mind, but the details are everything.

[ TEA BREAK. This tea is delish.]

[Pause. Pauuuuuuuse.]

Ah! My name is Inigo. It isn’t often that I find myself whisked away to strange new lands with nary a warning- and by often I mean mostly never, and by mostly I just mean never. Unless time travel counts.

Regardless! [Gosh, this tea is so great.] I could use some company, and there must be a lovely lass out there who wouldn’t mind a cup of tea with old Inigo?

It- well, it was exactly like falling onto a grassy meadow. Grass may look cushiony, but I can assure you it is not.

Thankfully, I was spared the indignity of taking a tumble in the fountain, though.

I heard an unpleasant rumor about this city- that even if you find a way out, it can pull you right back. I have a feeling you're going to tell me the rumor wasn't a rumor at all.

No. Can't say it's not a rumor. You can come or go anytime without... warning. It's not very wonderful.

Not wonderful in the slightest! How do you even prepare for such an occurrence? Just think of the compromising situations that-

It's not all bad. Sometimes you could come here just when you need to get away, too. That happened with me.

Were you in some sort of danger?

As for me...well, I'd imagine I'll hear a few- er, more than a few -choice words from my comrades whenever I do manage to get back to them. I'm part of an army, you see.

... It wasn't really me who was in danger, but they wouldn't give up if I- stayed.

Uh, I don't think anyone notices you're gone. Well, what I mean is, when I went back it was to the second I left and I only remember things that happen here when I'm here. [Makes sense?]

Not stuff- my services. I'm quite adept with a sword, if I do say so myself. As a mercenary, however...I'm not terribly good. I don't much care for the selling part.

[noticing his reaction, she quirked her lips upward in a small smile as if to laugh as his embarrassment.] Heh. Then how does it work if you're not good at selling your services?

[blush] Well I- usually only ask a bite to eat and a place to rest my head at night. Or a few cups of tea in the company of a pretty girl.

That's just wrong. You should get a lot more then that! Or you might not eat all the time.

I wouldn't say that! But it wouldn't be good for the person who finds you dead from starvation on the street if you don't eat or if you couldn't fight against all the curses. [Which is srs srssss bizuness to not take lightly. And they really just met so.]
