Entry 602; Day 1302

I rather wonder if I've not lost my mind a little, but that shouldn't be surprising after having been here for six years and six days now. And so, perhaps I have lost my mind. That might explain this little experiment.
In point of fact, Princess Rosella, you ought to be credited with putting this idea in my mind quite some time ago. Or perhaps you ought to be blamed. We shall see, I suppose.
In any case, as I recall, you, Princess, took to wearing different clothing after some time in the City. On a whim or as an experiment, as I recall. Or perhaps someone put the idea into your head too. I'll admit, the idea did stay with me. And certainly the City's changed what I wear from time to time--sometimes, indeed most of the time, for the worse.
But, still, I thought it might be interesting, after all this time, to embark on a bit of an experiment of my own. And since no one seems to be melting today, it seemed as good a day as any to begin it:

I don't see the harm in it, but I'm not entirely certain I quite like it. Not yet, at any rate. It's different. The shoes are rather comfortable, I suppose.
But I don't feel as though I could be seen at the cafe like this--the Turnabout Cafe, I mean. I've seen what everyone looks like running in and out of Cafe Juliet and that's quite different. Being seen in something like this there is rather different from being seen in something like this at one's own cafe.
The shoes are rather comfortable.

[ooc: Cut for a large SFW picture of shoes. Playing the part of Cain's feet...Caru's feet! Thank you, thank you. They'd also like to thank the Academy. tl;dr: Cain's gonna try wearing stuff like jeans and sneakers from time to time. He'll probably keep on with the white shirts and black jackets. But with jeans sometimes. But it's a bit of an adjustment for someone who's used to wearing Victorian frock coats like...all the time. But I think he'll manage to do it with aplomb, don't you?]

As well you should have! :D I ought to be ashamed of myself--but I'm not
I was SURE they were going to be the four-inch wedges.
[Why yes, she's enjoying this, however did you guess.]
What made you pick those out in particular?
NEVER. (He still has those, though...)
They were recommended to me, actually. [Nope, not gonna say by who. Nope. But it was someone who came into the cafe wearing them.] As for the trousers--I've seen more pairs of those than I can count in the City, really.
The siren song of blue velvet...
Cain's canon is rather Lynchian (wow that was obscure, Caru)
...forget obscure, I was totally thinking the same thing (welp we're nerds)
ILU. U complete me.
Red curtains and chevron floors, awww yeah.
Fully canon
The crossover I should write someday.
Yes, you should. Also, those keywords |D
THE MOST USEFUL KEYWORDS
YES. ALWAYS.
Never not relevant.

[A pause.]
Where'd you get 'em?
[This suit wearing guy might be considering a change of attire, too.]

They're fairly common, I think. I've seen them or ones like them in more than a few shops now.
But there's a shop to the northwest of Misery Square--one of the real main streets off the square, not any of the side-streets or alleys--that had them when I was looking for them. I can't recall the name of the place, but it should be fairly simple to find.
