Can I speak to the people who were in the prison last week?

We need to gather as much information as possible. Whatever you remember, anything at all. I'd also prefer the sarcasm and wit be kept to minumum.

[ Steve, ol' boy, prepare thine body for this awesome home street-made NPC Daddy D indie budget production, you ready, let's get this, let's go:

Here is Thor. Here is a... random... crowd... possibly drawn forward by the urge to poke and prod at the weird medieval armour. ]

Captain!

[ Oh, did you miss this smile and the hammer-waving - ]

I hear you! Captain!

[ "Captain?" says the crowd, which is apparently driven by a hivemind. Thor likes the hivemind. Watch him drive it. ]

He is. He stands Captain - your Captain. We salute him! Captain!

[ Look, Steve, the crowd is - slowly, because they're all cynics at heart - picking up.

And soon enough, we have: hammers waving, NPCs pulling out lighters, and a decent frenzy of "Cap. Tain. Cap. Tain. Cap. Tain! Caaaaap-taaaaaaaain!"

...enjoy. ]

[ THEY LOVE YOU, CAPITAN AMURI -

No, okay, moving away from the crowd. ]

Friend commander. You are not where I remember you.

Two days on the count. I thought it the mortal world, but the humans speak different.

There is - a matter.

The conditions were shitty. The food was awful, 'n we kept gettin' reminded of what we did to get put in there in the first place. 'n it was borin' as hell, a lot of the time.

Crap, really. Just a cell, with blank walls. I heard that other people got pictures in the walls that showed them what they did wrong, but I didn't get anything, because I didn't do anything. So they threw me in there and took my arm cannon and wouldn't let me use my magic. Just sat me there and chained me up so I couldn't turn into a bird or throw fire or anything.

The guards are stupid -- they're like empty bodies. They don't talk, and they don't listen, but they're weirdly strong, and there's a lot of them.

Hey, who're you? Are you going to fix this up so it doesn't happen again? I can blow some things up for you if you'd like. Maybe we could flatten all those guards...

Chief Rogers, I presume. I am told by a Police Chief Lin Bei Fong that you are the head of the police force here in the City.

I am Shikieiki Yamaxanadu, and I wish to assist the City's legal and defense system however I can, with what skills I have. Would you be willing to discuss the matter?
monochrome_mirror: (no. that doesn't work.)

From earlier conversations, it seems to me that there is no formal legal procedure here in the City, so I am unsure what my old work would be used for, but I trust that anyone who has brought some order to this City is likely to find a use for me.

In my world, I was the judge of all sentient souls, effectively a god, but it seems here none die and none are judged even in the more mortal sense. Even so...I have a magical artifact that allows me to see the past actions, motivations, thoughts, and so forth that would lead to a creature's overall behavior, in great detail. (Granted, I can't assure you that the City hasn't tampered with my capability, but that is what I have come here having been able to do in the past, and it has worked on two individuals so far.) That should at least assist with determining innocence and guilt, I would hope?

I am also quite combat-capable, although my power fluctuates with the opponent's power and also how sinful their life has been; I am strongest against powerful and evil individuals. The good who are cursed here, I would have less ability against, but it is still present.

And if it is any help, I can fly.

What needs to be done in the City, that I can be of use for?

I am very concerned about the jail as well. The other resident here from my world was innocent by all signs, and as such, the logic behind who was placed in the cells was...poor, to say the least. Also, if you saw the most recent Deity post on the Network, at least one of them did not expect the release of the prisoners. This leads me to a very early guess that their own actions are questionably planned at best...a great power that they give little thought to. Still, don't take that as any kind of truth, just personal speculation based on the alarm generated by the jailbreak. It could also be a deliberate wrong path set out on purpose.

Back to the jail, the guards are soulless ghouls. They have no record of sins, because they are effectively non-sentient. If one were to ask me, I would say that the entire ghoul staff needs to be destroyed or relocated and the jail re-staffed.

I hear they are difficult to fight, however, and they are exactly what I cannot combat as well due to having no actual capacity for conscious evil.

The interior of the jail was structured as a psychological punishment, forcing the inmates to relive their crimes repeatedly through the use of moving pictures all around the cells. The inmates were allowed visitors -- I saw some of them myself -- but from what I have heard, they were not told how long they would be contained, what any further punishments were, or even their crimes, past what the pictures displayed. Granted, the guilty seemed to have those images matching actual crimes, but I have few data points on that.

All of this is from a limited viewpoint, but make of it what you will.
