Yes, yes they were. And pretty tame samples, for how much trouble they were worth. Glad to hear people are being patient with newcomers, however.

What do you do here in the City? What is your work or other such role here?

I haven't really been able to find work just yet. I used to be a journalist in my homeworld, but that doesn't - seem like a viable career option here.

Ah, a journalist. We have a number of those -- the tengu tend to have a monopoly on the local news, although a few humans try to shoulder into that market.

Yes, it seems like my work is also...a bit inapplicable given the structure of the City. I am Gensokyo's judge of souls, but it seems as if no one dies here...and the legal system is utterly absent.

The tengu are a subcategory of youkai -- ah, sentient non-humans who live alongside humans in my world. They are experts in flight, clever of wit and mind, and tend to keep track of the information flow in Gensokyo.
