[She's shaking just a little. Seeing Spock here, like this... She wasn't ready. Isn't ready. But her top priority right now (other than staying alive) is ascertaining the status of her subordinate.]

[There's a sound--a voice--from offscreen, but the words are difficult to decipher over the device.]

I've encountered a creature that looks like Commander Spock. [She refuses to believe that it's actually Spock. He can't be dead. He can't be dead. He's one of the last of his people. He can't be dead.]

[After the Zombiebuster helps her get out of the convenience store, Uhura carefully makes her way to Chekov's location.]

[He's keeping an eye out for her. While the ghoul circling him is on the opposite side of the house he has borrowed, Chekov slides off of the roof (he's rather graceful for someone with one functional hand, Starfleet) to greet Uhura. Quietly.

Amanda Grayson--or the thing that looks like her--can be heard moaning.]

Uhura! Do you have a weapon on you?

[Uhura holds up a kitchen knife.]

It's the best I could do.

[He reaches under his jacket and pulls out something that looks vaguely like a phaser. It doesn't actually phase matter, but it does burn decent holes in things; one makes do with what one has to work with. Also? Don't ask him why he's armed.]

Point and fire. [Chekov tosses the weapon to her.] Where is the Com--the thing that resembles the Commander?

[She catches it deftly and sheathes the knife in her boot.]

[She swallows thickly when he mentions Spock.]

I think we lost it on the way here.

[Chekov gives Uhura's shoulder a brief squeeze.]

We should lose this other one, as well, unless you have a plan of action?

Losing it sounds like a good plan.

[The only alternative she can think of is unthinkable.]

[He can't think of any decent plans of action himself.]

We three options, I think: we avoid them and hope that they are only after us, we incapacitate them, or... [Or. Option three is not a good one.] Or they can be eliminated.

How do we incapacitate them?

[She's completely out of her element. She's a linguistics expert; she never even leaves the bridge. There's a brief moment where she wonders why the hell this is happening to her.

But of course, it's not just her.]

How strong are they? Maybe they could be restrained.

[Could they do that without being bitten? Is there time to find something to restrain them with?

The answer to the latter is no. The ghoul that looks like Amanda Grayson turns the corner, uttering a guttural, "You killed me." She's quicker on her feet than some of the other monsters, her state of decay not all that advanced.]

...Or we should run.

[It's probably not the right thing to do, but Chekov takes off after Uhura without much in the way of hesitation.]

[.......you look like a zombie, though. But you're more articulate than the other ones she's met.]

I'm at the convenience store by the fountain. Can you get there safely?

[Peek outside and you'll see a big guy strolling up to the store front like there's not a care in the world. The other zombies are clearing out of that zombie's way; it's got nothing to do with his size or the axe resting on one shoulder - there's just something wrong about that unzombie acting zombie.]

[She hears him approach and cautiously comes out of her hiding place.]

Are you the Zombiebuster?

Yes! [Thumps chest with axe.] Greetings!

[Positions himself by the locked glass door in such way that'll block zombies view of her when she goes to open it.]

[She opens the door and slides outside to join him.]

Thanks. Do you have a weapon I can use?

[Get a "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout" expression as he holds the axe up to his face.]

Can you help me get to this location?

[Pulls out his device and brings up the inner City map. Studies, hum-hum-hum. Marks off what he thinks the best route is.]

[Shows her.] You like?

[universaltranslator]

[She takes a moment to assess.]

Looks good. Let's go.

Me be leader, you follow much close. We go now! [Belts out a Zuni hunting song and does the accompanying dance, using the axe as a spear substitute.

The zombies hang back at his reappearance.]

[She follows, looking warily at the zombies who for some reason are keeping back.]

So. How do you become a...Zombiebuster?

Me just do. [Rapid teeth clacking and vigorous arm flapping at one getting a little too curious.]
