[Korra has been asleep most of the day. In fact, she hasn't gotten out of bed and she doesn't plan to any time soon.]

[Jinora knows that Korra likes to sleep in, but once the Avatar has missed lunch, the girl takes it upon herself to wake her up. She steals into Korra's room on silent feet and nudges her shoulder.]

Korra?

[grumbles and shoves Jinora's hand away]

[She yanks the blankets away.]

Korra. You need to wake up while it's still today.

[anatural]

[Korra lets out a whine as the blankets are pulled away. Her pajamas reveal a number of cuts and bruises that shouldn't be there.]

[Jinora's surprise makes her pause.]

...What happened?

[anatural]

[The concern in Jinora's voice wakes Korra up. Stifling a groan, she forces herself to sit up.]

I got a little carried away when sparring yesterday.

What really happened? I was up late waiting for you to come home.

[If she sounds mad, it's only because she's worried. She fell asleep in the living room and didn't wake up when Korra finally stumbled home.]

[She flinches at the anger in Jinora's voice. She can't tell Jinora the truth -- because of Li (Hei?), and because of Chekov. Jinora likes Chekov. It would crush her to hear what happened.]

I ran into some trouble because of a curse. But everything's fine, I promise.

[The girl can't maintain the Stern Adult facade. She sits on the bed next to Korra, feet dangling off the floor.]

Would you tell me if it wasn't fine and I could help?

[Jinora doesn't expect Korra to tell her everything; she's practically an adult and adults never tell kids everything. She just wants to help her. Isn't that what an airbending master would want to do? What her father would want to do?]

Promise.

[She reaches out and pulls Jinora into a hug. After everything that's happened this weekend, that's what she needs the most.]

[Sometime there's nothing to do but hug.]

[There's a lot Korra wishes she could say to the younger girl. That she's glad Jinora's here, and safe, and has her bending, and she's so sorry for so many things. But it's not a discussion she feels up to right now, so she pulls back and changes subjects.]

Has Tohru made lunch yet?

You missed it. I could make a sandwich...?

[Her culinary expertise, let her show you it.]

[And Korra should probably shower. Her muscles are sore and could use the hot water.]

I used to think it was about how winter was ending but now I've realised that doesn't even make any sense.

Winter doesn't end that soon, does it? [She's from a world without the Gregorian calendar. This stuff makes no sense.] You don't understand, either?

I don't know, I guess when I was smaller I just assumed January meant the weather would start getting better.

I hope it doesn't. I like snow.

The weather in the City is so strange but I hope it lasts.

Don't you have snow where you're from?

Oh no, I do. It's just hard for me to think it's winter when I've just come from summer?

It is confusing. Are you new, too?

I've been here a couple of weeks. Still getting used to it.

Oh, no! Nothing like that. Some people are just... really strange.

[ A slight laugh. ] Yeah, I've noticed that too.

Is it very different from where you're from, Clary?

Well, my world is a little strange but it's nothing like the City.

Strange in a good way?

A little bit of both, I think. Some bits are wonderful, some not so much.
