if someone was dying and they asked you to kill them, would you do it?

[What a coincidence that this would be asked on the very same day when fathers are appearing to everyone in the City. Very sneaky, McCoy.]
If I was a doctor and I knew all that I could know of the situation...

[He's a doctor, not a ninja. -_-]
Maybe I would not be able, but I would think it would be right.

That is true any time a life is taken.
But in this scenario, is the patient's state of mind more important, or is the doctor's?

it's always the patient first.

Then doing as the patient asks is the best.
Is your father here today?

He is related to your question?
[Thin ice! Let's stomp on it! It's all out of concern, really.]
Yes, Andrei Chekov is here, and he would like to interrogate everyone that I speak with. The City is fortunate that our fathers appear only to us and that no one else can hear them.

[GUESS WHO'S GOING TO KEEP POKING UNTIL YOU ANSWER, MCCOY.]
Then your father is here? Maybe he will answer your question.

[ to stop feeling guilty, that it was what he wanted ]
to listen to the patient, as long as they're in their right mind

[ He really doesn't want to answer this. But not answering isn't going to help, either.
In the end, he just goes with the truth. ]
lots of pain. but yeah, he was. kept asking but I thought I could find the cure if I had more time. they found it a little while after I gave in.
the exact circumstances aren't in my file and I'd prefer that it stayed quiet.

Honoring your father's request is not the same as giving in.
I will not ask again, sir.
