EIGHT ☠ was the first amount of playable races

[Accidental Video Post]

[This is a treat for you, City! Here you see Gabriel cuddling kittens and eating muffins-

...wait, no? It's just a recording of a tilted, disgusting cellar floor for six minutes? Well, shit, that's no fun.

Oh wait, something's happening! Kittens? No. Is that... a finger? It's rather badly decayed, but it's obviously a finger. A severed finger. Moving around like a fat, rotted grub.

Great.

Then, that lovely voice that sounds like a mix between whiskey hoarseness and someone having eaten a mouthful of gravel;]

Human filth! What a useless fel-tainted piece of waste.

[Clink. That's a rather thick needle falling on the communicator - and the wriggling finger turns, squiggling over to turn it off.]

[That voice. He knows that voice. And that place seems close enough to the cold and damp he recalls--more or less--from before. But he knows that voice.]

Whatever is the matter?

Shouldn't have any problem finding proper surgeon's needles at the Black Market or anywhere Underground.

Someone tried to cheat you - there are a few fools who deem all reanimates as the 'low intelligent'. Go back and demand the correct needles.

[With his heightened Diety-cursed senses, Karl can see every sagging bit of flesh on that errant finger. But he doesn't need them to recognize Gabe's distinctive voice.]

Some assembly still required, I take it?

[Hey. After being stuck in a windowless cell, 'tis a glorious sight!]

And have you been provided with the best tools?

[Those looked like crappy needles. Badass zombies deserve better :Db]

Lawsuits? Monetary compensation?

[A feral grin.]

Or more memorable means of payment?

What are you doing?

[Besides the obvious.]

I've had fingers fall off during an extended curse. I don't envy you if you have to cope with that all the time.

Are you a zombie?
othersdie: are you exiled in those bottomless nights? (Blank: No comment)

[personal profile] othersdie 2012-03-19 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Four to ten days is usually sufficient, assuming a body is left exposed. I suppose it's different with a reanimated corpse--not to be insensitive. [pause] The curse was unusual, anyway.

Necromantic energies?

I don't miss it. ...Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. Justin.

So it's some kind of magic.

Gabriel. I'm sorry for being... overly-inquisitive. I've done work as a forensic scientist; I suppose an interest in corpses carries over to a fascination with the animated dead.
othersdie: are you exiled in those bottomless nights? (Glasses: Reading)

[personal profile] othersdie 2012-03-20 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure there are universes with scientific means of making it happen.

So long as I'm amusing you. Forensic scientists can do a number of jobs, but I mostly tried to ascertain the time and means of death by examining a corpse.

Possibly. I don't know how magic and whatever time has elapsed since your death would affect the accuracy of a study.

That would make the results of a chemical study unreliable, at least, and you've undoubtedly patched up any fatal wounds while performing maintenance work.
