[The network is treated to a close-up of a rather good-looking face, topped with a neatly coifed head of blond hair. When it pulls back a fraction, the man appears to be wearing an elaborate Victorian frockcoat in bright blue with silver insets. He gives the network a dazzling grin.]

Good afternoon, all. Or is it morning? It was afternoon when I left, but inter-dimensional travel does tend to mess with ones timeline just a fraction so I’m not going to assume it’s the same time it was back in Ingary. We’ll just stick with ‘Good Day’, shall we?

You can imagine my surprise when I was expecting to step into another rainy day in Wales and discovered it had dried up quite a bit. Now I’ve done my research, and I must say this place is hardly original. At the very least you could have given it an appropriate title. Something better than ‘The City’. Honestly, If I’m going to be kidnapped at least I’d prefer it was by someone with a little style.

Now could someone please tell me where a fellow can get a drink around here. I was on my way to my university rugby club reunion when these Deities decided to snatch me up, and I was looking forward to getting well and truly sloshed..

[ Howard take in the man on the screen, tries to follow the well-spoken words, attention drifting away from the work he's supposed to be doing. ]

If I knew what time'a day it was, pal, I'd enlightening you, but it ain't something I've been keeping tabs on lately.

[ He drops into a chair, focuses fully. ] The City really ain't the most original, but it gets the job done. You needing any help over there?

Take a look 'round, it's functioning, got good businesses going, and there's a café that does the best damn coffee y'ever tasted.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker, normally. And just at this moment I was rather hoping for something a bit stronger.

Excellent. The responses pertaining to favourable drinking establishments have been unfortunately lacking.

I seem to recall a fountain when I arrived. I can find my way back there well enough.

[Howl's fairly hard to miss, still wearing his ridiculously bright blue suit and his mop of bright blonde hair. He's thrown himself down on a nearby bench, legs stuck straight out in front of him and blocking many people from walking by as he flicks through his device.]

[ Howard is there in no time, flopping down onto the bench without warning, recognising him well enough from the video feed.

Clapping him on the shoulder. ] Here as promised. Y'ready to get going?

I've been ready since I first arrived here.

[Mind the suit, buddy. He waves the device around a bit before he pockets it.]

Do people honestly talk so much on this contraption?

[ He pulls out his own, gives it a fond pet, and then puts it away again. ]

No always, but pretty much. Where I'm from, the best we got are phones, and ain't everybody got one'a those. These things? Beautiful creation.

We have phones back in Wales, but I've come to love living without them in Ingary. Just a whole bunch of bother they're not worth, I think.

[Howl sweeps himself off the bench dramatically. After you.]

I doubt it, although I'm always willing to have my mind changed. What is it they do that's so bloody spectacular?

Personally speaking, I got trouble keeping people 'round to talk to me, so this thing brings them to me, and it keeps us linked to the others who ain't from 'round here too. It's also got some games on, helps pass the time.

I don't suppose it has Space Invaders, does it?

Never heard'a that one. Sorry, pal. But there's this thing they got called the internet, they got these things you can add. Might have it on there.

It sure weren't in my day, but here everyone who's anyone can use it. If you got the computer box thing, you got internet.
