[ The glass park is nice, all things considered. He rather likes the look of the trees. But right now, he's paying them little heed, too busy dangling a frayed string in front of a rather hungry looking kitten. One paw swipes at the string, then the other, as though the animal's trying to learn the best way of attack. ]

I don't keep ham in my pocket, terribly sorry. All that dashing about gets everything a bit warm, and Pond would kill me. I used to keep bread for the ducks too, but you're not a duck. [ A pause. ] You'd probably eat the duck.

[ Lifting the string higher so the cat has to chase it. ] I wonder if Amelia likes cats.

[ Hello, Doctor. There's a little girl standing next to you, peering at the kitten. ] She's very pretty.

Hello. [ He offers the girl a bright smile before frowning at the cat. ]

No, well you are pretty. To humans you're just a little ball of fluff, there's nothing wrathful about you.

[ Back to the girl. ] Sorry about that.

Hello, Doctor. You speak cat? [ She gives him a nod, bearing far older and mature than it should be, considering her age, voice cool and vaguely British. ]

[ To the cat: ] I apologise if I insulted you.

[ The cat immediately starts to pur, elects to winding itself around her ankle. ]

I do, it's a bit tricky, but if you know how to appease them then it's fine. I just tend to keep out of claw-reach.

[ A pause. ] You know my name.

[ Ivy crouches down, a brief smile flitting over her face as she pets the cat. ]

Yes. [ A beat. ] I am the Archive.

[ Leaning against a wall, arms crossed and watching him. She didn't follow the Doctor. Really, she didn't. It's just— she doesn't really like not knowing where he is, okay. He might disappear at any time, after all. ]

Amy likes cats well enough.

[ He most certainly does not jump. ]

Did you hear that? [ Picking the cat up. ] Amelia likes you.

[ Mew. ]

Well enough. [ The qualifier is important. Though admittedly, the cat is really, really cute. ]

[ Now she's trying to bat at his bow tie. ]

[ Howard's not been in the safe zone for very long, and he'll never admit to it, but it's nice to see a familiar face. A strange face, but familiar.

He watches the man and the kitten as he takes his time heading over. ]

[ Have a welcoming smile, Howard. ] Well, I suppose if you're allergic to them, you might not. Or if you'd had a traumatic cat incident.

They prefer the term Independent. Some of them aren't as big a fan of the homestead as we think.

[Rose is wandering around a bit, getting some air and checking out the way that the City seems to be becoming more and more solid. She sort of wonders if it's the influx of people from the desert city that does it and therefore the people make the City real, which would explain why the City needs people. That's beside the point though and it all completely flies out of her head when she sees the Doctor playing with the kitten. A big smile breaks across her face as she walks over to him.]

There you are. Got a bit worried, but you look like you've survived all right.

[ Smiling when he spots Rose. ] You know me, notoriously difficult to get rid of. How about you? We would have tried to get into contact, but there was a bit of an emergency.

Not as difficult as I'd like. [She's lost him twice in her timeline and he's regenerated twice since she's known him. It makes her less certain about that whole 'getting rid of' thing.]

Ended up stuck here. Kept in touch with the other two of you. You...soniced my device so the reception wasn't bad.
