[The feed begins with static of both the visual and audio variety. This gives way to a nice shot of sand--as if everyone isn't tired of seeing that--and Penny's voice.]
--need you to work, please? I'm not Survivor material and this seriously isn't going to end well if you're broke--oh! You're recording?
[A dizzying spin and Penny comes more-or-less into focus. Her expression is difficult to see, darkened as it is by the diffused white light behind her. She's sitting cross-legged in the sand, a white blanket over her head forming a makeshift (and uncomfortable) tent. It's better than being baked to a crisp.]
Hey! I'm hoping someone sees this because I could use some help. I woke up yesterday in this building that definitely wasn't the building I went to sleep in, but that wasn't so bad because there was some water and food and... you know, a couple of walls. I couldn't get this dumb video phone to work, but I didn't start freaking out about that until this morning when the walls decided to turn into sand and--and I swear I'm not making this up--I heard growling.
[A shadow passes outside, just behind Penny and her sheet tent. She stays silent until it leaves and continues in a whisper.]
Did I mention the things? There're things out there. Growling things. So if anyone's getting this and knows what to do, I'd really, really, really appreciate help. I think I saw the carousel a ways off yesterday, but other than that... no idea where I am.
[Bright light comes streaming in from a hole in the blanket; sand falls on the device's lens.]
Oh no. Nononono...
[More sand falls and the feed ends abruptly.]
[ooc: Action of the saving-Penny-from-whatever-desert-beasties-you-please variety would be amazing. Any replies to voice/video/etc will be answered later.]

action;
Hey Sweetheart! You still alright in there?
[It's a loud bellow, meant for her to hear and to scare off anything that might be worth scaring off.]
action;
Penny discards the remains of the sheet--it would turn to sand--the moment she hears Dean, scoops up her network device and the small amount of water she has left, and makes a run for the Impala, giving the desert monsters a wide berth and not replying for fear of drawing their attention.
Most of the monsters are focused on Dean. A few, however, seem to have decided that Penny looks like an easier meal.
For leggy worms, they run pretty fast.]

action;
Penny, however, is in the clear (and thank God that the City has pulled in so many sharp-shooting action heroes) and wastes no time in getting into the car. She wasn't invited, but she's pretty sure this guy isn't risking his life so she can stand around outside and get eaten by something else.]
action;
He slams the door of the Impala shut and looks over at Penny.] You get bit?

Where are you? How're you doing? Nothing's trying to eat you, right?

voice;
Penny, are you hurt?
voice;
voice;
I'm all right. I'm in the desert, not far from what was the hospital - just taking cover for the moment.
voice;
Okay. Stay away from monsters, okay? And there's this fort thing that everyone's heading to... do you know anything about it or where it is?
voice;
[But he can't worry at her without acknowledging her worry. That would be unfair.]
I wouldn't worry too much; I generally stay far away from monsters if I can help it. And I've heard about the fort, though I haven't gotten there yet so I can't really say. There are some injured out here, and a few people I need to track down.

-now? Penny? Penny, are you still there?

I'm still in the desert but not in danger of being eaten in the near future, if that's what you mean?
voice; later
[You can hear in the way his voice rattles through the speaker that the thing still has grit in.]
That's what I mean. Good. Are you on your own?
voice; later
Nope, not anymore! There were some two-headed snake-things, but a knight in shining armor came along and saved me. ...And by knight in shining armor, I mean a guy with a car and a lot of guns. It's all good.
How're you? Roaming the desert? Staying away from monsters, I hope?
voice; later
[It got in Chase's device because he's been digging with it, burying himself half in the sand trying to find people buried deeper. It's not an experience he's going to talk about with her.]
I'm holding up. Metaphorical armour's the best bet in this weather. I hope he's giving you a lift - there's a camp, a place that's keeping the worst of the monsters out.

Oh, nope--still in one uneaten piece. How're you doing? You're okay, right?
voice;
Me? No problem. I've got some friends and a van. We're doing fine. You got someone to pick you up?
voice;
...You're not the one doing the driving, right? 'Cause if not, that's a great deal. Walking through all of this sand on foot would be the opposite of fun. And yep, I've got a ride to the fort-camp-whatever. No more monsters to deal with on my end, I hope.
