Got another stabber coming in. Woman at the hospital reported it. I thought we should at least follow up, make sure it was curse-related.

For what it's worth, I don't think she'd do something like that cold-blooded. But you should decide that.

Everyone I've met with thus far has been cleared, if it's any consolation.

Is there something about the 'ides' that makes people reach for a knife? This is the impression I've gotten.

Not just knives.

The Ides of March is a reference to an event in the history of the world I'm from. In our classical period, an influential government official was betrayed by his allies and murdered. This marked the fall of a powerful empire and the beginning of an era of civil war.

They didn't use a sequential numbering system when tracking the days of the month. Instead, they dated events in relation to one of three points in the month. The assassination occurred, supposedly, on the second of these three points in March--the Ides.

[And that is probably the most Justin has said all at once for months. He might have a hang-up about famous betrayals.]

[ At least Lin appreciates his verbosity. She's been looking for a good explanation for that for a couple days now. ]

It seems the City wanted us to re-enact this past betrayal. A true curse, rather than an irritation.

A true curse. That just makes it harder to tell who's innocent.

That can be difficult enough under normal circumstances.

I can't disagree.

The first day I met Korra, she was brought into my police station for destruction of property. She doesn't always understand the rules of cities.

She seems to have learned quite a bit being here. At least there's that.
