This is all wrong, wrong. I can't believe you've got all these dolls and fake houses yet there's not one accurate model of the castle. And don't let me get started on the men. Do you know how hard it is to find enough male dolls to fill the rank of knighthood when my only option is that Ken doll everyone seems to be in love with?

And it's even harder to find enough swords and chain mail to cover the lot of 'em.

I'm seriously disappointed here.

At least Morgana and Guinevere weren't too difficult to find. That's probably the one thing you did right in this City.

[ and then he just shakes his head and turns off his phone, but not before allowing it to get a glimpse of the miniature doll house and all the knights of the round posed in battle in front of it against a horde of strange and wild beasts. Yes, this is what Arthur has taken up as his latest hobby: tabletop gaming.

… With a whole contingency of barbie and barbie related dolls at his fingertips. Fear his ingenuity! Or mock it. Both are equally acceptable. ]

[Yes, Mao recognizes that Arthur isn't just playing castle. Before the Gates and his transformation into a Contractor, Mao had been a huge D&D nerd. Don't tell anyone, but old hobbies die hard.]

Sometimes I used to look in the windows of stores and look at all the dolls and things and think how much fun they'd be to play with.

And look what you did with them! That's amazing! It's like a real place!

[ he frowned, the doubt creeping into his voice as he replied. ] I hadn't quite figured that out just yet. I've mostly been reenacting battle of the past at the moment. It is a bit hard to stage a real battle without someone to oversee the rules.

I'm not a mage. I somehow doubt I'd be able to turn it on and off.

And, well—probably all for the best. I never did suss out what enchantments are on the chess pieces to make them listen to you and move and all. Rather clever, really. But I do like moving pieces around myself too, at least in sports plays.

[ he doesn't flinch at all over the use of "Camelot" in general conversation an especially not at all in reference to a game. That was his home, Mao was talking about. ]
