[Carla Marianna Morir is the youngest child and only daughter of Jorge Morir and his wife Kaitlin. Jorge was a quiet and distant man with a hand for manipulating others. While Kaitlin was...
Rather high-strung and melodramatic and indomitably nosy.]
Not that I'm naming any names, of course, but it's a sham of a marriage. What kind of woman continues to work after she's engaged, even? Doesn't she have a book club she could have joined? For God's sake.
[Carla is relating this to a hapless waiter. She also appears to be drinking, which is red-flag number two.]
And before you go-- [Oh no, little waiter, you can't escape.] I need you to take back this dish, I'm afraid it tastes a bit like... well, cleaning fluids, frankly.
[Her smile is thin and condescending. Red-flag number three. Carla never sends back food.]

[ Carla has acquired an unusual assemblage of guests at her table. And she's actually talking to them about their lives and their jobs. God forbid if you tell her you're single. ]
[ Hello, how are you. Drinks anyone? ]Monday Morning - Diner
[ As someone who never drinks and openly disdains the practice... Carla and her hang-over will be happy to complain. Especially about how much she hates her mother. ]

[ He's settled enough into his own irrationality -- his human status -- to indulge in curiosity. ]
There are marriages that aren't shams? [ It's an entirely rhetorical question. ]

It's just so tiresome.
Clearly you need a nice girl in your life.

[ Again. Rhetorical. ]
audio;
[Ohohoho. This is not how Carla normally laughs. At all. If she could hear herself right now she would be mortified.]

Good family, good money, good hobbies.
A pretty face doesn't hurt either, now does it.

Marriage is a beloved institution.
A dream come true.
No one should be alone.
The parties are always wonderful besides.
audio;
Now that could almost have sounded like you.
text//unhackable
Besides. I dislike parties.

I'll take you along next time.
I'm sure you dress up nicely, dear.

[ He might be trolling. He might be serious. The world may never know. ]

I can't even imagine. It would be ghastly.

[ Lips. Twitching. ]

They'd never work in this town again.
Re: text//unhackable
Attend weddings and gossip about them?
[ Rhetorics, rhetorics. Oh, you useless ladies of leisure. ]
text//unhackable
Didn't I mention my book club?
text//unhackable
Tragically, no.

And I might add the catering is fabulous.
