[ Now there's a familiar face. He saw this woman in a memory of Asami's, that was played on the Network. ]
You're in a place called The City, miss.
I take it you've just arrived.

Y-Yes, ma'am. [ He sounds intimidated already. Except it's an act. ]
Not really. I-I guess you could make a name up.
The most popular variations are Fangsey. Or Our Personal Hell. Or Why Am I Here, Please Make It Stop.
[ Although it's nowhere near as chaotic as his homeworld. ]

[ 'Li' is punctiliously polite. At least, that's the act he puts on to keep others off-balance. ]
I'm afraid there's no solid answer for that.
People are abducted at random from their homeworlds by the so-called 'Deities' -- the string-pullers here. You're kept here as long as they want to keep you. Like pets. [ doot doot ] Or maybe an ant-farm.

Unlikely. But true. The City has a way of skewing logic. It's completely self-contained. No way [ so far ] of escaping. Or contacting anyone from your own world.
[ An uncomfortable pause. ]
They say time forks while you're here, so back home, it's as if you've never left at all.

It's called the City, ma'am, and we're in the middle of an unfortunate invasion. I'm Steve Rogers, acting police chief, and if you're in law enforcement, we could really use the help.
You're in a place called the City. It seems to make a habit of kidnapping denizens of other worlds and confining them here. Every now and then, we're subjected to curses. Some minor, others less so...
Presently, the City is infested with monsters that take on the appearance and mannerisms of those familiar to you and trying to kill you.
Take care to not be deceived and dispose of them quickly. Can you fight, Madame? If not, it is best to take shelter and find someone who can.

From what I've heard? Nothing. It's like trying to run headlong into a brick wall. Lots of Ouch and people pointing at you and snickering. We have a guide, though, to help with the trickier questions.
[ He fiddles with his device for a moment, then transmits the City Guide to her. Seemingly all unawares that it's by Lin's mother. ]
[ But sometimes a sharp shock is best for explaining the City's surrealism. ]

Then, I suggest you start believing, Madame.
[He will shift the camera's view so it focuses on his upper arm, the sleeve sporting various holes. He draws up the sleeve to reveal bandages.]
I was attacked by one masquerading as my younger brother, Kudari.
[After a moment, he adds:] If it were human or otherwise possessed a soul, my partner would have been able to kill it quickly.
[At "partner," a strange cross between a round purple balloon and chandelier floats in, peering through the screen with round yellow eyes and a wide stitched-shut smile.] Shan-shan!
[... so, the man speaking has a monster companion of his own?]
