Accidental Video

[The device shows a lot of static before that clears to show a house with a giant hole in the roof and much of the furniture inside destroyed. There is very little that has been left in one piece and plenty of it is still smoking from a flash fire that hit it.

In the center of it all is Michael. He's got his knees pulled up to his face and his arms wrapped around them. He doesn't want to see anyone. His wings are currently out, flared behind him as his shoulders shake a bit.

If one listens carefully, they can hear his muffled voice.]

...asshole...who said you could go? I was supposed ta get us both out of here. We were gonna go together.

...how could you just leave me?

[Grabbing a giant rock, he picks it up and throws it against a chair, smashing it without looking at it.]

I hate you, Raphael! I hate you!

[Kira hasn't noticed that Raphael left - not exactly his focus - but he doesn't miss this from Michael. Nowhere near as important as Setsuna, of course, but important enough to warrant a visit.

This isn't their world. Not of consequence, even if he treats Michael like he never would back there. Of course Michael is supposed to become strong, for so many reasons, but it doesn't matter what he's like here.

Kira has pulled out his sword when he enters the building and he uses it to cut through the device. No need for witnesses.

He pauses for a while then, looking at the archangel and searching for the thing to do and say when he's not out to hurt him. Lucifer and Kira, no one he's ever been is very good at this.

Cowered like this, with the pulse of power, the heat around him, lonely and defeated... As often, Michael reminds him of Setsuna more than anything.

And so Kira closes the distance between them - for once - not even pausing at the fire, the burn - and puts his hand on Michael's head, fingers threading in with his red hair.

He doesn't say anything, but that is better than the cold, hurtful words that might normally come.]

[He's so distracted that he doesn't notice when Lucifer comes in. He doesn't hear when the device is destroyed. He doesn't hear him walking closer. No, it isn't until the other is touching him that he looks up startled.

Blinking, he looks up at his brother, not really believing that he's there at first before quickly moving to dry the stupid tears away. He's been working so damn hard to prove that he's strong enough, the last thing he wants is to cry in front of Lucifer.

Shit, this sucks. But, Raphael has always been his closest friend and he made promises to him that he now feels like he's breaking for some reason. Michael knows he isn't but he doesn't stop the stupid feelings.

Fuck these tears. He's not crying, damn it!]

[He looks down at him, hand still in his hair, expression empty. Not cold, at least, but no, he's not good at this. It's not Setsuna and so Kira doesn't sink down to wrap an arm around Michael. At least not yet.]

You're allowed to feel like this.

[Not granting him permission, just stating that he has it. Because Michael is who he is and strong in spite, perhaps even because of it. Growing with the intensity of emotion, of loss. Lucifer has always understood this.

But now there is more than just Lucifer and so Kira does finally crouch down. The hand stays in Michael's hair and thus his arm is suddenly partly wrapped around the small body, brushing against his wings.]

[Michael is stunned by that. He's allowed to feel this way? So angry and upset that the stupid tears won't stop? For awhile, he stares at his twin until finally that arm wraps around him.

Wait.

Lucifer is...hugging him. Okay so it's not really a hug but coming from his brother this might as well be like someone squeezing the air out of him. Sniffing a bit, he swallows while he tries to just wrap his head around this. He's allowed to be upset, he has his brother comforting, Lucifer is hugging him...

Oh God, the world is about to explode, isn't it?

He'll just...grab Lucifer's shirt and bury his face in it. If they're all going to die of an explosion then he wants that last memory to be that his twin really did give a crap about him.]

[Fool Raphael unexpectedly earned Luke respect. They would never be friends and or allies, but Luke did like him to some extent. Plus he was fun to tease.

Normally, he would ignore Micheal (for the most part and will continue to do so). But today, the redhead's angry outburst is a little too reminiscent of Jan. And Devit. And Karkat.]
