[ Clint is out wandering the streets, and he may or may not been tailing a certain someone, keeping them safe within his sights, bow concealed about him in case it's necessary.

The video feed doesn't start rolling until he rushes into the road to scoop up a dog that's about to get run down, the device dropping out of his pocket and setting going when the dog puts a paw on the wrong button.

Once he's given the dog a quick look over, Clint is grinning in a way he rarely does out in the open for just anyone to see, hands petting it all over and ruffling its hair, and he's speaking in a voice that is worthy of mocking. ]

You scared the crap out of me, yes you did. [ The dog cuts him off only long enough to slobber all over his face, which draws out an actual giggle. ] You're a good doggy, aren't you? Aren't you? Yes, you are. Here - [ He fishes out a dog treat from his pocket, something he sneaks Fury when Coulson isn't looking. ] - that better? 'Course it is.


[ OOC: Feel free to have anyone be in the area or find him later on, or even be the dog in question. Clint really loves dogs, okay? ]

[ He's totally going to ignore the fact that he just licked Hawkeye all over. He's just really, really glad he didn't end up as roadkill and okay, so maybe the dog treats are totally awesome and he's having a good time. It's a curse, but he's not troubled by it exactly. ]

Woof. [ Hey dude. ]

[bettercallit]

You want another one? Cheeky fella, aren't you? [ But he's already got another out, holding it to the dog's mouth. ] You're too small to be out alone. Where's your owner, hey?

[studmuffin]

[ Apparently Derek because he just alpha'd all over Stiles, but he likes Clint the most, wagging his tail extra hard.

Has he even seen the network today? ]

[bettercallit]

[ He's assuming everyone who is cursed will have someone to watch out for them.

He picks the tiny, wriggly thing up, holds it out to look it in the eye. ] Can you understand me?

[studmuffin]

[ Barking and wagging his tail.

Yes, yes he can. Which is good. It means Clint will figure out he's a real boy and not actually soft and fluffy. ]

One bark for yes, two for no. Do I know you?

[ The realisation of what he's actually doing sinks in and he tries to resist the urge to laugh. But, hey, at least talking to a dog who understands English is better than what he usually does. ]

[studmuffin]

[ Bark.

An extra hard tail wag. ]

[Free food? HELL YES? Luke works out where Clint is based on the picture in the video and heads over there, turning into a Buhund just before he comes into sight. He barks once, sharply, and pretends that Clint just being there distracted him on the way to something else, lolling his tongue out and doing his best to look adorable.]

[ A certain someone who is currently walking Fury. And quite possibly aware of his tail. ]

[ He eyes the dog, still grinning, because this is far too cute and no one else is looking. ]

Someone I know who yaps a lot and can't keep still? This is a tough one.

[bettercallit]

[ Trying isn't necessary, Clint already won over, and he's crouching down, offering a treat - he should stock up. ] Another victim of the curse? I'm starting to think I might prefer you guys this way.

[studmuffin]

[ Barking.

He doesn't talk that much. ]

[bettercallit]

This curse should come complete with collars and name tags.

[ He's scooping up the tiny dog, pushing himself to his feet. ] You want a ride somewhere safe?

[studmuffin]

[ He keeps wagging his tail so that it thumps lightly against Clint's arm. It's kind of cool being this tall. The world seems so different when you're a puppy. ]

[bettercallit]

[ Clint makes sure that he's got a firm hold on the tiny thing, holding him close and occasionally petting his head. ]

Do me a favour, don't pee on me.

[studmuffin]

[ A growl.

He's not the Pack, he totally doesn't feel the need to mark his territory. Even though he saw Clint first. ]

[bettercallit]

C'mon, you're too cute to be threatening. [ He's heading down the road, towards the apartment. ]

[ Barking

STOP CALLING ME CUTE ]

[ He's not entirely sure it is who he suspects, but he'll find out eventually. ]

What's that you're trying to tell me, little guy?

[bettercallit]

[ If Clint didn't want to be spotted, he would do a better job of sticking to the shadows, but with Loki still looming around the City he's not taking any chances. ]

[studmuffin]

[ That he is the most awesome, most badass Mr. Stiles. ]

[bettercallit]

[ He's so going to have to ask about the breed when he's human sized again. ]

Is that so? Good for you, buddy.

[debrief]

[ Phil doesn't exactly mind. He can take care of himself (recent death notwithstanding); Clint's steady presence is still comforting in a way. ]

[studmuffin]

[ Wagging his tail and nuzzling against Clint's chin because he is puppy-sized, and he has a lot of puppy-ish urges right now. ]

[bettercallit]

[ Smiling, and checking around to make sure no one can witness, Clint snuggles him close, rubbing his cheek against his little head. ] I love Fury, but give me a little dog any day.

[bettercallit]

[ Falling out of the casual pace that matches, Clint takes a few longer strides, bringing him closer until he's walking in line with him. ]

If they weren't people, I'd take them all home.

[debrief]

We talked about this. [ Allowing the corner of his mouth to twitch upwards. ]

[bettercallit]

[ Hanging his head and sneaking quick peeks, and whining a little. ] But, sir. You can't tell me it doesn't get you to see them wandering dangerously around like this.

[debrief]

I know to pick my battles.

[bettercallit]

No strays. Got it. [ For now. ]

[debrief]

Certainly none that don't need to be taken in.

[studmuffin]

[ Licking his cheek helpfully and barking his agreement. He is an awesome dog. ]

[bettercallit]

[ He is an awesome dog, which is why he gets him home and puts him down in the living room, letting him run around after checking no one else is home. ] Don't pee on the carpet and we're good.

[studmuffin]

[ As if he's going to pee on the carpet.

He's much too busy running around the floor and smelling things, nose shoved in the couch cushions as though he can scent out something. Probably the candy he'd dropped down there as a human. ]

[bettercallit]

[ Watching, Clint makes a face, arms about to gesture for him to stop until he waves them off, shrugs, and lets him get on with it. ] You get sick after going down there and I'm not taking responsibility.

[studmuffin]

[ Woof.

Don't be silly, Clint. Candy is his heartsong. ]

[bettercallit]

Might smell good, but all the bad stuff does.

[ He kicks off his boots, plonks onto the couch, and pats his lap. ] One time offer.

[bettercallit]

Curses are temporary, Coulson, you've got nothing to worry about.

[studmuffin]

[ He looks torn, but there's some instinct in him to please Clint. It moves him to jump up on the couch, abandoning the candy search in favour of placing paws on his thigh experimentally and yipping. ]

[debrief]

Nothing? [ But he's smiling. ]

[bettercallit]

[ He flashes him a shit-eating smile, which answers the question enough all on its own. ]

Gonna make a detour, pick up some stuff. See you when he tires you out and brings you home?
