[It had been a while since she'd gone for a good run, one that wasn't intended solely to try and shake off the sadness and lose herself for awhile. But today seemed like a good day to go out and really enjoy the forest and maybe take herself for a little swim in the river. Just be free for a bit. Why not? She deserved a break after all the insane hours she'd put in everywhere trying to keep herself to busy to think, right?]

To whomever might be interested:

I'm taking the day off.

Merlin, if you can hold down the fort at the store, that would be great. Feel free to close it if you have to go.

Penny, maybe tomorrow I can show you some of that martial arts stuff. Come on, you know you want to.

Anyone else who needs anything, I'm around for maybe another hour and after that you can catch me tonight or tomorrow.

[ Well he'll certainly get the surprise of his life when said wolf comes jumping out of the foliage. He knew something was coming, but he had expected it to be one of those famed monsters he was told about on his arrival, not a wolf.

It certainly wasn't an accident that Mercy might hear the sharp thwack of a cross bolt barely missing her ear as she runs, but neither was it Arthur's intent. He'd just gotten the surprise of his life when said wolf came jumping out of the foliage. He had almost believed for a moment there that Mercy was one of those famed monsters he was told about on his arrival all those months ago.

But regardless, he's thrown down the gauntlet and he's man enough to know that one lone wolf, he might be able to handle. If her pack was near by... Glancing over head, Arthur tried to gauge if it'd be wiser to stand his ground, or shimmy up the nearest tree. In truth, shimmying is winning. It's not like he has a spear or sword at hand. This was supposed to be just a simple hunting expedition. ]

[Mercy'd been caught up in chasing a rabbit and had never expected to run across another human here - she hadn't before after all. If she'd been paying better attention to what her nose had been telling her, the crossbow that came whizzing past her head wouldn't have startled and shocked her so much.

She spun around, trying to determine just how much danger she was in and then froze when she realized who it was.

And by the way, Arthur? Coyote. A measly little 30 pound coyote. Which he'd no doubt recognize - at least the small size of her - once he'd gotten over his surprise.]

Trying is something I can do.

[ shush. Even coyotes can be dangerous when their teeth get a bit too close for his liking. ]

[ Arthur doesn't take his gaze off the Coyote for even a second, trusting to his feet to feel out safe terrain as he backs up. One false move and it could be dead Prince Arthur rather then Arthur Pendragon, future King of Camelot! If only he had more then a hunting knife on hand, he'd feel a lot more confident in the odds.

At least he still had his crossbow in hand and carefully, so very carefully, he pulls out another bolt from his quiver and slides it into place. At least it might give him a fighting chance if he's forced to show his hand. ]

Excellent! Then tomorrow at nine?

[Holy -! He was going to shoot her! Damn!

Okay, quick, naked or dead, naked or dead? No choice really.

Mercy shifted near instantly into human form, dropping low and to the side as quickly as she could, covering as much of herself as she could.]

Don't! Arthur! It's me, Mercy!

Tomorrow at nine it is. I might be a little late, but I'll be there.

Wear something loose that you can move in!

[ He was only seconds away from shooting off that bolt, before he realized something was happening and then... ]

[ he finds himself immediately shrugging off his outer tunic and averting his eyes after that briefest glimpse of nakedness. ]

Ah, you... You could've been shot you know!

[ and he gritted his teeth, holding out the coat and trying to remind himself that not all sorcerers were evil. He was having a very tough time of it though. ]
