[ Teddy looks vaguely nervous on screen, fingers plucking at the hem of his t-shirt, the other holding his device up. He's sitting cross-legged on the floor of his apartment, clearly working himself up to ask about something. ]

I hear this is the done thing around here. I uhm - I need a job. [ He is totally at working age, okay? Totally. ] I don't have a resume, but I can tell you what I'm good at. I'm strong, I'd be good for manual labour. [ Damn, this is harder than he thought it would be. How does one even say I fight bad guys for a living, but I hear there's not so much of that here so a normal job for me. ] I'm okay with pest control, and I'm great in a crisis.

[ Pause. ] And I mowed lawns for a summer a few years ago too.

I'll pretty much do anything. Anything at all. I'd learn quick too. Thank you for your time.

[ And end feed because that was awful. ]

[An arm snakes around his shoulder from behind.]

You forgot to mention how awesome you are.

I don't want to be too in demand, B. [ He's grinning, leaning back a little. ] Then we'd never get any time together.

You okay?

[Billy rests his chin on his shoulder.] Still you deserve to get something cool!

[His hair has still got the rumbled just out of bed look.]

I'm good! I was thinking we should check out the comic stores today if they have any. I could apply to work in one and get us free comics?

[ Teddy has to lift his hand, run his fingers through Billy's messy hair. ]

Boyfriends in high places, that sounds cool. [ He's beaming though, it would be nice to get the lay of the land, figure out what's available to them. ]

[Billy makes a contented noise and drapes properly against Teddy's back.]

It will be the best job! And we still have time to patrol.

Whoever gets paid first takes the other on a date?

[Her reply comes early in the morning, with her hair mussed and pre-coffee. How professional.]

How good are you at retail?

Yeah. [ And he sounds happy now. ] We can do the whole entire romantic thing now. All by ourselves. Without interruptions. [ He's thinking about Tommy, obviously. Always getting in the way. ]

I'm so glad you said the p-word. [ He doesn't want to give it up, not at all. If Billy's on the same page, that's good. ] We should probably talk to the Avengers properly. Even if they don't know us.

I could be good at it. [ He doesn't really know, professional all round. ] What kind of retail?

There's a boutique, a salon, and a cafe. You look pretty young, so I'm going to dangle the cafe and boutique sections in front of you.

[Mainly because Teddy still looks like a growing boy and all of Angela's potential employees eat free and growing boys do need discounted clothing to fit their growing bodies, right? This all somehow works out in her sleep-addled brain.]

I could do that. [ He probably sounds relieved, mostly because job terror and it's not like being a superhero in training actually pays.

Besides, Angela already seems nice. ]

Do I need to submit an application?

You could if you want to, but it would have to be an application you write out yourself since I actually haven't have the time to write one up yet to my liking.

[She laughs and pushes a wild chunk of hair out of her face before continuing in. Teddy's better off writing one up on construction paper in crayon. At least Angela will enjoy looking at that instead of the regular applications.]

But really, all I need to know if your basic info and hours you can work and skills and then we can just skip to the interview where we can have coffee and I can feel human again.

...without interruption. We might get somewhere! [And billy can't stop smiling.] We could make it through a whole film without getting popcorn thrown at us!

[Billy nods.] I just... if we stop again. Billy pauses.] It will be even harder to get started again T. [He would start over thinking things again.]

We have to show them we aren't too young for this.

I can work whenever you want! [ Enthusiasm, he has it in bucketloads. And he's also kinda pleased she doesn't seem too desperate for his application. So far he and Billy have a whiteboard to write on. And that's currently hosting a drawing of a dinosaur eating an ice-cream, so. ]

And I'm quick to learn things, so I'd figure it out fast.

We could make out in the back row. [ Not that his mind is always on that or anything, but he does want to get back to being a normal teenage boy with normal teenage reactions. He wants to be selfish and greedy and have Billy's time to himself. If the City's going to keep him, then he's glad he's not alone, he's glad they have this. ]

I think Captain America is from ages ago, and Iron Man too. We'll just have to prove from the off-set that we're worthwhile.

[What the hell? Angela would love that. Be careful. She might hire him on the strength of that dessert eating dino alone.]

Don't say that because if I was somebody else, I'd have you doing the graveyard shift in an actual graveyard. [If people stayed dead here long enough to make that worth it.] Anyway, I'm Angela Montenegro. I own Passione down in the Square, so if you're not busy today at around... one? We could meet? Really quick interview. Don't bother wearing a suit and tie. I'm not that uptight.

[Or uptight at all. She's mostly just wanting to get things done so she can feel a bit less stressed about the preparation phase.]

I would love to do it, we could see a rom comm to do that.

[Billy feels the same. Ever since Teddy forcibly dragged him out of that dark pit, he's realised he needs to live. That he can't be bleak forever.]

We can do it. I mean we can do a video of our first patrol. There is one tiny problem though...one of their friends doesn't seem to like magic at all.

I'm Teddy, Teddy Altman, and sure, I can make that. Will I need a suit at any point? [ Because he hasn't got one, unfortunately. Suits are for men like Tony Stark, Teddy prefers his jeans and his t-shirts.

He wonders briefly if he'll have to take out his earrings. That's going to be weird. ] Do I need to bring anything?

Something awful and cheesy that we won't want to pay attention to anyway?

[ That makes him pause, worry curling in his stomach again. They've seen what happens when the Avengers don't trust Billy. He doesn't want him to go through that again. ] Who?

Nope, but depending on whether you work in the cafe or the boutique, there may be an apron to wear or a particular color to wear. Whether that's a suit or not is up to you.

[Nope. Those can stay in. Angela has her own share of piercings. Besides, she's all about self-expression around here.]

Bring me something shiny and I might could be bribed. [A pause.] I'm joking. Just bring yourself.

Okay, bribes and me, I can do that. Thank you. [ Because at least he didn't have to panic too long, that's important. He's a secret worrier of epic proportions. ]

Just knock on the shop door when you get here. In full disclosure, we're not actually open for business yet. I'm hoping that in a week or two, we will be.

[ooc: YES! I am always good for action, though I do have to go out in a few hours, but I'll be back relatively soon but we can start now. Hence why I am up at 7am... woke up at 6am when I was supposed to be up at 9am rofl /dies a sad death]

Yes! And one that has a simple plot so if anyone asks we can pretend we saw every bit of it.

[Billy undrapes himself and comes to sit cross legged in front of Teddy. He looks worried.] The guy didn't give his name. But he was worried about the worst I could do...it's not fair. I haven't done anything and I am trying to be careful.

Oh cool, so it's new. [ That's actually exciting. A new venture, a new place. ] I'll be there. And on time too.

(( ooc: okay, I will action it up next \o/ I just always have to check as ahahaha, I am hawkward. If I disappear, I am also wandering outside, the trauma of reality. ))

Did you tell him that?

[ Teddy's not happy. Nobody should be distrustful of Billy, not even an Avenger. He trusts his boyfriend, and he knows he's made mistakes before, but they all have, every single Avenger and they should know better than to judge first. ]

He was an Avenger though?

No, not really. [But she's not going to get into the backstory of the place. Not right now or here.]

And I'll be here... being here.
