[ Pepper drags herself out of the fountain-- denim skirt, white cotton blouse, and strawberry blonde hair all dripping wet. She plants her bare feet on the ground and surveys her surroundings, slowly realizing where she is. She digs the familiar phone out of her pocket-- thankful it still works after her wet landing-- and holds it at arm's length, the other arm wrapped protectively around her chest. ]

Well, I'm back! Not sure how or why now, after so long, but if anyone I know is still here, Tony, if you don't mind, I'd appreciate a dry shirt. And a towel maybe? A full change of clothes would be nice, but the shirt is what mostly concerns me.

[ She gives a small smile and ends the feed. ]

[Yes, that's excitement in Charlie's voice. Loads of it. She can hardly contain herself right now.]

Is someone coming to help you? Because I will if no one else is.

Sif! It's so good to see you! I think Tony's already on his way, so don't worry about bringing me anything.

How are you? It's been so long.

Charlie! Oh, it's so good to hear your voice. Tony's on his way, thank god, but we should get together once I'm warm and dry, yes? I'm sure after all this time there's a lot of catching up to do.

[ aka from her perspective, Pepper's been gone for two years and is assuming the same amount of time has passed in the City. ]

Absolutely! I'll make dinner. How are you? Other than soaked.

It is lovely to see you again, Pepper. I am doing well - your previous apartment is still available, although I moved out a few days ago. It was...getting lonely.

[He ran a few stoplights and sped like twenty over, but he comes to a screeching halt by the fountain. He didn't bring a towel but he has a suit jacket on but he doesn't care to offer to her right now.

All that matters?

Is that she's here for him to hold. And he's gonna do just that, his arms pulling her to him and she smells just like she always does, so clean and reassuring and he though he'd never hear her voice again.]

[ She giggles lightly as he pulls her close. ] You're getting yourself wet, you know that.

[ Regardless, she throws her arms around him and tucks her head into his neck, smiling. ]

Did I? Sorry, it's been two-something years since I left. Remind me of your name again?

I don't know, really. One day I was here then the next I was home. The stranger part is how, when I was home, I didn't remember the City at all, but now I do.

I'm good. I never thought I'd say it, but it feels like a vacation, being here, everything back home is so busy. I'll tell you all about it over that dinner. Maybe Ed can join us again?
