[ surprised, twisting to a stop on his wheels. Kazu doesn't often head to the park to run—too much grass and flammable nature—but it's still weird to run into familiar people in it. ]

[ It is. What is perhaps less familiar is that Tessa sits down next to Mae and puts her arms around her, pulling her into a hug. ]

I'm sorry about this. [ Sounding embarrassed. ]

Oh, a hug! [She grins, and thumbs her book to keep the page where she left off at, wrapping her arms around Tessa.]

[A familiar face - she greets Kazu with a smile, bookmarking her novel and lifting her hand to wave at him.]

Pretty much, yeah. Didn't know you came out here.

When it's nice outside? [She shrugs.] It's better than an empty apartment...

[ well, the hugging back is nice. she does't mind hugging mae, which is more than she can say about some of the people she has hugged today. ]

[If Mae knew that, she'd feel sorry for Tessa. Here, though, she kind of wanted to get a hug. Considering how her last was from Nick, and close to over a year ago, it's no wonder she feels touch-starved and not quite ready to let go.]

I did say I'd take hugs, since I know most people today are reacting with indignation. I'm glad one was from you.
