[Rose is sitting on a blanket on a patch of grass with a basket of chips and a bottle of fizzy drink next to her. She's got a pair of wayfarer sunglasses on, a pair of shorts and a Beatles tee shirt on. Her face is tilted up to the sun a bit, a big smile on her face.]

I miss seein' different planets and different people. I miss that moment before you open the TARDIS doors when you don't know what's on the other side. Everything inside you is bubbly and giddy. I miss stepping out into a brand new place. There's nothin' I don't miss 'bout travelin' in the TARDIS...but here's got it's own sorta bubbly and giddy. With the curses, you never know what you're goin' to wake up to so there's a moment, lying in bed with your eyes closed that's a bit like that moment before you open the TARDIS doors. It's brilliant, this City. Good chips too. Not quite as good as the ones in London, but close.

What's a tardis?

[Stephen is slowly figuring out how this thing works. Once he got over the panic of showing up in this place again.]

[Big smile. She likes talking about the TARDIS. She doesn't really know Stephen so she doesn't get the benefit of young!Stephen but still!]

I've heard of this TARDIS thing. You know Amy? She told me about it.

Yeah. 'm not sure how friendly we are, but I know her. I was the Doctor's companion first.

[She's going to regret being so forward about that tomorrow.]

No. Well, yes but no. Same man. Different face. They're all the same Doctor with the same memories and experiences and sorta feelin's. They just come from different time periods. There's the one with the jacket. He was my first Doctor, and the oldest...chronologically of the three. There's the one with the hair, he was my second Doctor and the middle one. I was there when he regenerated then there's the one with the bowtie. I was already gone by the time he regenerated.

One Doctor. Three different regenerations. Three different time periods. There's actually...eleven regenerations of him. Just three of 'em here.

[This is one of Rose's pet peeves. There is only one Doctor and to say otherwise demeans the amazing man that he is. At least in Rose's opinion, but then she learned the hard way that they are the same man.]

[She has a lot of feelings. His question gets a big grin out of her though.]

Yup. Doctor's an alien. I've met blue people and cyber people and daleks. Cat people and tree people. 'm not sure how much I liked the cat people and the tree lady flirted with the Doctor. More aliens than you can imagine there are.

No shit? A friend of mine... well, I don't know him really well, but anyway... he thought he'd been abducted by aliens when he was a kid.

'm not sure they really abduct people much. 'least I've never seen that they do.

s'all right. She was here for a while, in the body of a woman. Doctor talks 'bout her all the time. S'not a big secret, even back in my world. Not like you'd think.

[He's... not entirely sure what to do with this. He can't find anything bad about it - or honestly anything he disagrees with - but at the same time, she seems to like the City... a bit more than he thought she did.]

No chips in the universe as good as the ones in London.

[Oh Doctor. She thinks the City is amazing and brilliant. She does miss traveling and seeing new things, but she's got a life here that she doesn't think she can have anywhere else.]

[Likely not. But still. Slightly different hard-wired thinking patterns, perhaps.]

Yeah. Maybe it's the atmosphere. I mean, the actual one. And the figurative. London's better when it's got one of each, I think. The chips better from it.

Well, turns out it wasn't aliens, anyway.

So, you're not traveling now. What do you do?

That's your official job title. Or would be, if I could figure out how to make that work.

Shame about the chips, though. All across the universe, and they're never like they are in twenty-first century London.

[A smile stretches across her lips.] Got to have the right combination of things to make chips like that. Good company, wrap 'em in newsprint, add in a walk down by the wharf, maybe toss in a little bit of...oh watchin' the earth end. Lot to ask of some chips.

Here? 'm a shop girl at Passione and sort of Cinna's personal assistant. Bit of a downgrade from companion but the Doctors are still here so...guess 'm still a companion. I just don't travel anymore.
