53rd Slay [Accidental Video | Action]

[Buffy is in at home beating on the punching bag. Her skin is dripping sweat so it's obvious she's been at this a while. She's got ear buds in her ears and the tinny sound of pop music can be heard even from where the device is sitting on a stool a few feet away. She turns on the punching bag with a flying roundhouse kick that snaps the chain it's hanging from and sends it sailing across the room to knock the device off the table. She stands with her hands at the small of her back for a moment before walking over to retrieve the device, noticing it's recording when she does.]

So that's how I'm dealing with the ticking. How's everyone else doing?

[Dawn is lying on her stomach filing her nails with her own music blaring in the background. Hers is some sort of upbeat pop music that sounds pretty much the same from one song to the other. She sighs, looks into the video with an arched brow, and presses her lips together.]

You're dealing with the ticking by showing off? Cause that's what it looks like to me with the uncalled for show of Slayer strength. Also with the sweat. I say ew, but I hear some boys like sweaty girls.

Inside, no but there's some things in the Underground you can hit.

Sounds like a good place to be. Might do that for a while.

Not showing off. Definitely trying to not kill other more important things in our house.

[Unamused, Dawn. Buffy is unamused. Last time she'd had to deal with ticking this loud, baby sister was not here and Buffy had had lots of sex with Eliot to keep her mind off it.]

I'll wait for them to attack first. That's usually a good plan, right?

[Ha! Sometimes grating on her sister's nerves is a fun kind of past time. Although when Buffy's nerves are already grated from the ticking sound, maybe it isn't such a good idea. But who said there had to be good ideas right now? Dawn doesn't always make the most awesome life choices. And while the ticking is pretty loud and annoying, she mostly has it tuned out at this point.]

Is that a threat? It sounds like you're threatening me. Or maybe I just think I'm a more important thing, which could be wrong from some perspectives. But since I'm being all perspective-y through my own eyes, I'm gonna go with me being important and you threatening to kill me. [A ghost of a teasing grin creeps onto her lips and off so quickly that someone would really have to be paying attention to notice it.]

I was thinking more actual things like fridges and stair railings and TVs. Last I checked, you qualify as a person.

You wanna come with me? We can keep an eye on each other and make the Underground just a bit safer.

And is it working? It looks like rather a lot of effort, you see.

Sure. I could come with. I'll meet you at the Underground entrance in twenty. I want to shower and change first.

It's keeping me from killing things I can't fix or that I like. Such as the TV and my little sister who's decided this is the best time ever to irritate me.

I imagine irritating you is her way of dealing— [ lip quirk. ] —with the noise.

Hello. I hope you realise that my arrival was far more disappointing this time — I made a point of sitting forlornly near the fountain for at least thirty minutes, hoping against hope that a blonde with an unusual name would bring me coffee again.

Good deal. I need to feed Hypnos and the new one. Who needs a name. I'm thinking Petrichor. Anyway. Yes. Twenty.

Well now I just feel guilty. I guess I was less network-y that day. Can I buy you a cup of coffee today to make up for it?

[In twenty minutes, Buffy is at the entrance to the underground in a pair of sweatpants and a sweatshirt. There's no use wearing nice clothes to slay in when you know you're going to get dirty. She's left the scythe at home and brought a stake instead. The scythe usually just makes things too easy. She figures with Charlie's power, things should be fairly easy anyway.]

I should hope you do. I could have been the perfect damsel — or duke or knight, as the case may be — in distress. Would coffee help with the ticking, do you think?

[ ooc: oh, gosh, it's not a problem at all! :c as long as you're feeling better. NO-ONE'S OBLIGATED TO TAG, ANYWAY. ]

[Charlie shows up a bit later. Black tank-top, jeans and her typical black Converse shoes. She grins at Buffy, waving.]

If this doesn't help, I'm getting drunk.

It couldn't hurt the ticking. I'll even push you in the fountain if you think being wet will recreate the mood.

Well that couldn't hurt. The getting drunk. This is more about frustration letting off, you know?

[She nods, understanding that full well.] I'll follow you. I've only been down here a couple times.

First level, we should be okay. Smaller things. Good for aggression getting out. [She veers off the safe path and into an alley.]

[Charlie follows, quite happy to just be out. It was already distracting her a bit.] What sort of small things? What should I look out for?
