[Jill is at The Blue Light working. It's her night to tend the bar instead of supplying the musical entertainment for the evening. The bar is full, probably because a lot of people have had the same idea as she's had. The ticking isn't so bad if you're drunk. She slams back another shot and then procedes to take and prepare more drink orders.]

[Tim isn't handling the ticking so well. He's tried stuffing his ear buds in his ears and that's done nothing for him so he wanders down to the Blue Light in his jeans, boots and a button down plaid shirt. He sits down at the bar, watching Jill take a shot with a smirk.]

Think I'll have what you're havin' and a beer.

[Is he old enough to drink? Nope but he's got a pretty good military ID in his wallet that says he's 24 and Sergeant Timothy Riggins in the Army.]

[They aren't really hugs on IDing people here in The City. As long as you look a decent age (i.e. not a child) then you can get a few drinks. She offers Tim a small smile as she drinks down the shot without a wince. She's used to the burn of alcohol, honestly.

She pours him a shot of the tequila and picks out a beer to slide in front of him. And once the burn in her throat has died down a bit, she speaks.]

It actually helps dull the ticking, believe it or not.

Thanks. [Tim downs the shot, grimacing at the burn as he sets the glass down and nods then chases the shot with a sip of beer.]

Yeah, sorta does that to lotsa things.

[Like the Pit he's going through his own high grade today. Time to see if this avatar can get drunk.

He walks into the bar and sits down.]

Gimme somethin' hard.

[While she could turn to the wall of liquor and make another choice, she assumes that this person needs a drink ASAP to begin with. Since the Tequila bottle is already in her hands, she pours a double shot glass full, places a lime wedge over the rim and slides it over to him across the bar top.]

If you want something different than Tequila, let me know.

[She leans down, resting her elbows on the top of the bar and her chin in her hands as she watches Tim take the shot then the beer. Honestly, she's pretty sure she wouldn't refuse anyone alcohol on a day like today. The ticking is just too much and too grating. Everyone deserves something to make it better.]

Got a theory on what's going on with the clock? Most people in here do.

Surprise me.

[She's had enough of the Ticking and the Underground. Neither worked, though the last did help her feel better. Still...she hasn't tried anything yet.]

]Tim chuckles and shakes his head.]

Not a damn clue. Someone over-wound it? You?

Hey.

[She mixes up a quick rum and coke to get Charlie started. It's easy and quick and better to get the alcohol flowing sooner rather than later with how the ticking seems to be aggravating people.]

I'll fix you up something better in a minute. Alcohol really does help a little bit though.

[She smirks and stands upright again, taking the empty shot glass to put it in the sink. It's an amusing explanation even if it isn't entirely plausible with how constant the ticking is. Surely the Deities don't pay someone to keep it wound or waste their time winding it up themselves. Do they?]

I'm pretty sure everyone is over-wound. Or... wound up... cause of the ticking. [That includes her, although the multitude of drinks she's had has relaxed her a bit.]

[Let's hope they have better things to do with their time. Tim takes a glance around the bar then looks back to Jill.]

Yeah? You seem to be handlin' it alright to me.

[charring]

[She takes it gratefully, sipping some of it before speaking.] This curse, man. Is it near midnight yet? I'd like to not feel like my heart is trying to match the beat.

We'll see.

[Looks at the lime wedge and picks it up, looking at it with an unfamiliar look. Bites it a little, decides it's not too bad and starts eating it, skin and all.

Then he downs the Tequila.]

Not bad. Pour me another.

[Action!]

[As expected, this bar was full just like his own in the Underground. People mostly getting high left and right to stop the ticking. The cash flow was good but the sinner needed a little away time from it all, especially when he had to remain unaffected by it. It sucks but that was the trade off for dealing the stuff and not buying it unfortunately.

Right when he was about to seek another one, he spotted Jill behind the bar rather than on stage tonight. He supposed it would be difficult to perform in such conditions but still an odd view to see. Aion placed his charming smile on and walked over to greet her at the counter.]

Not playing tonight, I see. It's been a while.

[Action!]

[Jill has been pouring herself drinks in between making drinks for everyone else. Needless to say, she's fairly well lit. She's just passed a fresh beer to a patron and picked up her own bloody mary for a sip when she spots Aion's familiar face coming out of the crowd toward the bar.

She offers him a small smile in return, hers only an attempt to be as charming as the one he's giving her since she'd pretty sure she isn't capable of smiling like that.]

It would be hard to keep my own tempo with the city-wide metronome sounding in my ears. [The ticking does remind her of a metronome.] How are you? Can I get you anything?

[Her lips move to tell him that he doesn't have to eat the skin of the lime, but then he already has. It wouldn't hurt him, of course. People garnish dishes with the shavings of lime all the time. Still, she was initially concerned. Once she knows he likes it though, she pours him another double shot and places another lime on the glass.]

It really does help dull the ticking. It's helped for me, anyway.

That's because I've had a lot of what you're just starting on.

[It's obvious with the sing-song way she says it that she's already pretty well lit up. Maybe the flush in her face and her eyes might give that away too. But mostly, it's just that she isn't as guarded as she usually is. She's more free with her words and open in her expression.]

The day really can't end fast enough.

[She takes a healthy swig of the bloody mary she's already working on. She's lost count of how many drinks she's had, actually. But she does know that she's feeling pretty good right now and that the ticking isn't bothering her so much anymore.]

I thought about playing some. [She glances at the grand piano on stage that most of the time she's sitting behind.] But the ticking is like a giant metronome that you can't control the tempo of.

[charring]

I think that'd throw the best pianist off. [Another, bigger swig of the rum and coke.] Midnight, though, I wouldn't be surprised to hear a collective sigh of relief when this is all done.

[Jill gives Charlie a small smile and nods. Before she'd been drunk, she had been trying to think music in her head. It had turned into such a mess that she couldn't really stand to even think it anymore. But still, the electronic music was loud over the speakers as if that could drown out the ticking. Really, it was just more noise.]

I think after today I'm going to want silence for a whole twenty-four hours. Just... nothing but silence.

[charring]

Same. Just twenty-four hours of not being bothered. Might even stuff the device in the freezer again. [She finishes the rum and coke a bit quickly, so set on drowning out the ticking.] I miss the curse free two weeks.

Me too. I'm still kind of wondering what the lack of curses was about, if anything.

[She turns as if to go to make another drink, then hesitates and turns back.]

Do you like bloody marys? They're my favorite.

[That slow, drawling grin creeps across his face. She's adorable.]

Looks like I've got some catchin' up to do then, Darlin'.

[He eats the fruit wedge again, then drinks the liquor down like it's nothing.]

[Lucy is going to wander in sometime after dark, go to the end of the bar and literally just forehead-bar until Jill provides her with a lot of alcohol.]
