[The haunted look will never really leave Anna's eyes, but today she seems just a bit brighter with the sun on her face. She is out on the green for the afternoon, but she is assuredly still a patient when one takes note of the nurse keeping an eye on things. Nothing much to worry about at the moment, Anna is sitting quietly, poking at the device.

From her bed, Anna has been learning about things, watching the network flare and chatter day to day. It's curious, and today she has something to offer. Her voice is somewhat small and hoarse, but clear when she says,]

Hello, City. I hope you are enjoying the sun.

[Her smile is thin, exhausted, and always tinged with sadness.]




[[ooc; Pretty much the same as part one of this adventure. She is weak and not very talkative, although she will try. Action is also perfectly fine, if people want to visit her (she likes flowers!)]]

[He recognizes that need for a nurse. He's been there.]

[She tries the smile again, but it doesn't really seem to have gathered any more energy.]

I'm glad.

[She was underground too long. Coming out into the sun is just such a pleasure.]

Sunshine can feel really good when you're sick. Does the hospital have a balcony?

[flensing]

I am not sure. [She closes her eyes, inhaling slowly, checking her memory over once more for the information, just in case it has merely slipped her mind. She's lost many things to the cracks that had begun forming in her.]

The grass is... welcome too.

[punchedhitler]

Yeah, I remember that driving me kind of crazy when I was stuck inside.

[flensing]

You kept busy, instead?

[She didn't have that luxury, but she assumes he had a bit more freedom.]

I drew a lot.

Hi, I'm Steve Rogers.

[flensing]

Hello, monsieur. [She inclines her head slightly, eyes falling closed again briefly before she's looking back down into the camera.] My name is Anna.

[She has been acclimatizing herself, slowly, to hearing her name again. To knowing it is wanted and recognized by others.]

What did you draw?

[punchedhitler]

You can just call me Steve, really.

Whatever I see. Some stuff I make up.

[flensing]

Ah. Steve. [Monsieur Steve?]

It seems... relaxing.

[To be able to do something with your own two hands...]

[punchedhitler]

Do you want me to show you how?

[flensing]

Hm? [It isn't an idea that had occurred to her. She considers it, earnestly. Nothing she does comes with much hurry, she is still slow and deliberate, settling back into her mind and her body after the two were slowly torn apart.]

I would like that. Yes.

[punchedhitler]

Are you allowed to have visitors?

[flensing]

[She nods amiably.]

Everyone... has been very kind.

[She isn't sure she trusts it completely, and there have been a few who frightened her, but... fear is not her master.]

[punchedhitler]

I'll be over in a couple of hours.

[flensing]

[Another slow wobble of her head.]

The nurses give good directions...

[She may be inside in her bed by then, but the staff hasn't directed anyone astray from her yet.]

I'll make sure to ask them.

[ She's been cleaning, actually, and she's still a bit hungover, but... ]

I've had the windows open. It's a nice day, isn't it?

[Have a bruise-darkened face peering at you. The rest of Karl's body, vaguely seen, is strapped to a bed.]

It's sunny out, is it?

[flensing]

[She gives him a tremulous sort of look. He unnerves her, his sorrow and anger are familiar to her, however, and she can't truly turn her eyes away.]

Close your eyes and it is warm. Like floating.

[From one captive to another, she quietly offers over the guiding image.]

[flensing]

[Bonjour, Ariadne. Anna offers her a tired little smile.]

Very nice.

[She wouldn't say anything else, really.]

[boutant]

[ Ariadne gives her a smile back, but before she can say anything else, an orange kitten sticks his face into the screen. ]

Biscuit--

[ Tugging the device away, though the cat's still in view. ]

Apparently he wanted to say hi.

[flensing]

[Upstairs on a fairly quiet floor, now that she has begun to spend a bit more time up, the shades on her windows are drawn and open. It makes the room look a bit more inhabited, and the little things that have begun to accumulate around her lend to that. Flowers, and the teddy bear she keeps as a guardian on the bed. She is distractedly watching some birds beyond the window.]

[flensing]

[How cute... She can't even remember the last time she saw a cat who wasn't feral and mangy.]

Bonjour, Biscuit.

[Something in Karl's cool gaze shifts. Not exactly a softening; more a wistfulness. He has no energy for sniping. Weak as a day-old kitten, in pain. But the scenery on the network device, and this girl's voice, is a welcome distraction.]

Not quite the same as being outside. But the mind plays wonderful tricks. I can imagine it, yes...
