[Peter skulks through the desert city. Being out and about - even in broad daylight - is the last thing he wants, but he's been informed that staying locked safe inside the basement is not an option, and that he is to spend the daylight hours outside, meeting people.

By this point, he's made his way to the area formerly known as Xanadu (not that he knows it). He's hot, tired, and sober - not a good state to be in.

He sits under a statue to rest. After a moment, he frowns and looks up. It takes him another few seconds to place the face --

charring.]

She never said she was famous.

[Since Buffy was the one that ~~threatened~~ encouraged him to get out, she feels a little obligated to check up on him and make certain he hasn't stumbled into something dangerous. He seems the kind of guy that would stumble into something dangerous. She shows up a bit later in a tank top and a pair of shorts, opting for enjoying the sun today. She's carrying her scythe because it's the sort of thing a girl shouldn't leave home without in this place. She wanders over to him and sits down next to him.]

I told you you could survive out in the daylight.

Is that Charlie?

[Dawn, of course, isn't far behind Buffy. She's sticking close to her sister through this apocalyptic sand thing cause when in doubt, it's good to have a Slayer around.]

You know if you sit in one place it's easier for the oogly-booglies to find you.

[Peter lets out an undignified squeak as he finally registers who he's talking to. And then he scowls.]

Who's running scared? I'm just out here taking a walk in the sun!

[Peter doesn't stumble into danger! Danger stumbles into him! He scowls at Buffy.]

I don't much see the point. Look at this place! It's a fucking hellscape.

It's fucking weird, isn't it? I mean, have you ever met someone who's been turned into a statue? Fucking hell.

Is that a statue of her or is that her as a statue?

[ She is pretty sure Charlie isn't famous, considering the little she knows... ]

She is the statue. Evidently there's some fucking Medusa creature running around.

[ There's a pause, Ariadne worrying her lower lip between some teeth for a moment before continuing. ]

Either way, death here isn't permanent. If you die -- well, you're still dead, but you start walking around again.

Oh please, [Insert Dawn eyeroll of doom here.] Master of darkness? Do you know how many vampires go around claiming to be the master of darkness? Tons. And the funny thing is that none of them are darker than my sisters ex boyfriend, he liked to kill fish and flay computer teachers.

[Her hands on her hips, she's going to give him an appraising look over.] You do look good in leather though. Not all so-called masters of darkness can pull off the leather thing no matter how hard they try. Personally, I think if you need a nickname you should go with Buffy's boyfriend number thirteen. See what I did there? Everyone fears the number thirteen. It's all unlucky and curse-y.

Well I am not a vampire. And I'm not your sister's boyfriend either. Let's stick with the name that's on my IMDB page, shall we?

[He preens a little, though, at the complement. Not everyone can look good in leather.]

Suuure you aren't. [Which one of those "not's" she's referring to is your guess. But right now she's distracted by the fact that he thinks he has an IMDB page.] You have an IMDB page?? [Buffy is doing a patrolling sort of thing, keeping an eye on the perimeter and making sure nothing is going to eat them. She over hears Dawn saying Peter is her boyfriend and dear lord it is on. Any sane person that saw Buffy storming at them, scythe in hand, would run. Dawn, of course, does not.]

Seriously? He is not my boyfriend! I've known him like two minutes! There has been no kissage and nothing else-age either! Not a boyfriend. I saved him and now I'm morally obligated to make sure he stays alive. And okay, yes, he is kind of hot. Old but really hot but that doesn't mean anything. I mean hello! He wears leather and calls himself the master of darkness. That is so junior year for me. We've been there. We've done that and I am all kinds of mistake-learn-y. Not my boyfriend.

[Except she's using a lot of words to protest this and she did call him hot so...you know.]

It's good practice for when things go back to normal. Besides, this is totally more fun then doing the cowering thing.

Morally obligated? Is that what you're calling it now? Good to know! I'm morally obligating Aya right now and sometimes in my Dawn dreamland I morally obligate other hot guys too. My head is a fun place. Also, what you call each other in the bedroom is totally leaking out into the open here. Now I'm thinking that being with him makes you Mistress of Darkness, which if you and him are that, what are you and Pyro in the bedroom.

[She holds a hand up and scrunches up her face.] Nononono don't tell me. I don't wanna know.

It is not code for anything! It's actually morally obligated. As in Slayer, comma, The. [Horrified Buffy is horrified.]

I do not call him the Master of Darkness. He calls himself that! [So much face palming.] Not to mention the part where I met him two minutes ago and newsflash, there IS no bedroom. There's sand, more sand and an awful lot of people. PS, I'm not a voyeur or whatever you call people who like having other people watch them have bedroom times!

Hey with the way you've been racking up boyfriends lately, two minutes is nothing. You're working quick like lightening in recent times here in the City. You'd think with how epic you and Angel were that you'd be looking for epic again but you're really surprising everyone, everyone being me, by being all fly by night party fun girl. Plus someone who does it in a graveyard isn't gonna be too picky about doing it in sand... which, ew cause I can only imagine where you get sand when you're actually doing it in the sand.

[She sort of twirls the crossbow she's been carrying along with her in her palms. Be glad it isn't loaded.] And yes, we are so not having that discussion. I'll just ask Pyro someday what your bedroom name for him is. And if it's Master of Darkness too, then you are so losing points on creativity.

I am not racking up boyfriends and hello, it's not like epic actually worked out for me! He tried to kill all of my friends, Willow's goldfish and then suck the world into Hell! Oh and did I mention when I tried to give epic another chance, we nearly destroyed the world not to mention magic. I'm pretty sure epic and me aren't mix-y things so yeah, if I'm going with boyfriends, I think the less epic the better, don't you? Because I can't actually handle epic again without going into little. bitty. buffy. pieces.

[She bites her lip hard. She hadn't meant to say any of that. Dawn had just hit a sore spot.]

[Peter has been, very wisely, keeping out of this whole thing. Never get into a fight that had nothing to do with him, that was his motto. But he stuck around and listened, because hello, Buffy thought he was sexy. That was information to keep on hand.

But now the fight was leaving the territory of interesting tidbits of information and getting into dangerously emotional territory. It was time to check out.]

Obviously you two have some issues you need to work out. I'm going to let you have your personal space.

Hey! [Dawn's just going to grab his wrist and pull him back over closer to them.] Didn't you hear her? She's morally obligating you and she thinks you're hot. Which, she morally obligates most guys she thinks are hot so... just get used to it cause it's a thing. Anyway, I'm Dawn.

[And she's just now looking up and noticing the statue. Her features suddenly turn serious.] And that's Charlie.
