[Ciel seems less than pleased with recent events. The camera is on intentionally and it's quite clear from the barrage of things going on he's ruffled, he seems angry, even. Though he forces himself to remain calm and collected. Even that is hard right now.]

I would like to say that without my expressed permission no one but myself, Alois and Luca are allowed to stay on my estate grounds. If you are here please come speak with me immediately-- it would seem there has been a misunderstanding.

Alois, from now on you are not allowed to tell anyone that they can stay here. Am I understood? I do not want people living here I do not know.

But I was trying to be nice. Thor said he needed a place to stay. And he has a puppy, too. Like ours.

Also does that mean Claude can't live with us either?!

Thor? Is that his name? You are not the owner of this estate and therefore have no jurisdiction over who I allow to come and go. Claude... [He'd regret this later. He can't just tell a contracted demon he can't be with his master- but if Claude showed up that means Sebastian is close behind... keep your friends close and enemies even closer, Ciel. Bide your time. Tolerate the filth for now.]

Obviously you are contracted. That is the only thing I cannot interfere with -- though I wish I could.

You really don't like Claude, do you? [A wicked smile.] But you like me though, right?

I hate him, actually. [He doesn't know how to deal with this.] ...like is a bit of a strong word.

It would seem Alois has offered for other people I do not personally know to come and go on the estate grounds as they please. I have been informed, however, that his butler is here now so he should be less of a problem because of that.

I suppose he must have got - lonely. Even someone like him.

Tolerate and like are two different things. [he mutters this and looks away.] Do whatever you want. I would prefer it if Claude did not stay here -- in turn, if you choose to have him rebuild your estate, that might be better.

About Mr. Faustus. I thought to ask whether you'll still be needing me. He seems - capable.

The situation is complicated where Claude Faustus is concerned. He is Alois's butler, not mine, so your services shall still be required as long as you choose to stay. Alois has caused you more than one headache, I assume.

Liar. You'd be terribly lonely without me. [You'd have no one who assaults you with kisses in the middle of the night, after all.]

Hardly. Don't hold yourself in such high regards where I am concerned. [He can't say he would miss that.]

You know, if you're afraid of Claude I could always come sleep with you at night. So if he tries to come over to scare you I can send him away. [This seems like the most marvelous idea to him.]

Shall I... ask Mr. Faustus to keep out of your affairs, then?

Afraid of him? I'm disgusted by him. He went as far to kill his own master to obtain a new one... his standards are terribly low when it comes to loyalty. I suppose that would be fitting... considering who his master is.

[And now he'll push you away and force you leave. He can't deal with Claude or you right now, much less, himself. You'll hate him before it's over.]

No. I will deal with him personally when the time is right. For now go about as you normally would. He is hardly worth associating with.

[Oh but there is one more detail. Alois has been inside your very soul, Ciel. He's seen your fears. He spent the past two months obsessing over you and trying to understand your issues to make it all better. He knows what you're trying to do.]

It doesn't matter if he does that again. I'm not alone as I was back then now. Whatever he does, I'd still stay with you. [Oh he might be determined not to give up, but he is hurt by what Ciel just said. It's more than visible in his eyes.]

It matters to me. Don't you get it? Once Sebastian arrives, and he will, we are going to be enemies again if only because they are enemies. What makes you think we can all live together?

[It was aimed to hurt. And he knows how to do it. But there is at least a little truth in what he's saying now.]

Why would you ever want to start a war against me? The only one who'd want to fight is Sebastian. [That word alone is enough to make Alois want to throw up.] Aren't you his fucking master? Would you really let him use you to get his revenge on me? [When Sebastian gets mentioned, Alois can get fierce.] Do you think I'd want my brother to be trapped in the middle of that? He'd miss you terribly. Everything we've built since we arrived here would be destroyed. Just because a fucking butler can't accept he has to serve a demon for eternity.

Why would you ever allow Sebastian to do that? [In moments like these, Alois wonders whether Ciel really remembers the time they've shared in the same body, and all the pain they've seen.] Haven't we had enough of wars?

Because of him? No. Because I refuse to tolerate the way Claude has treated you in the past. I would worry more for Luca because of it.

As far as I recall you started it. Of course I'm his master -- but he does things in subtle ways that would be certain to cause dischord. Honestly, how do you think he and Claude could live under one roof and not attempt to kill one another?

[Especially if he orders it to happen. Claude is useless. Sebastian is obviously far better.]

[Alois is very good at detecting small signs of affection in Ciel's words by now. He's perfected the art in these past few months. So when Ciel says "I refuse to tolerate the way Claude has treated you in the past", Alois has to fight a little smile back.] If they have to kill each other, why do we have to get involved in it? Don't stress yourself over it. [And in little more than a whisper.] I won't go anywhere, Ciel. Claude won't kill me again.

Because we are their masters. We have been involved from the start -- and I cannot promise that harm won't come to Claude in one form or another. I will never forgive what he did.

[The anger is apparent in his voice, now. He did too much to Ciel and far worse to Alois, stockholmed him, made him suffer in his own way- but that's just how a spider is. He hates spiders.]

You cannot promise that.

I can and I will. And you know that when I want something really badly I end up getting it. [He's smiling now, because he doesn't want Ciel to be worried.] Whatever happens, I promise I won't go anywhere. Not even Claude can make me leave my brother. Or you. Not even if he crushes my fucking skull a second time. [And he looks straight in Ciel's eyes.] And he won't do anything to you, either. Not because of Sebastian, but because I won't allow it.

You could not do anything previously... so what makes you think you can do anything now? As it is, you are what he made you without even realizing it -- you love Claude and that gives him the ability to undermine you.

[He won't look at him right now, he knows he's right and he fully understands what the repercussions of all this will be.]

[He knows what Ciel is trying to do. He's trying to push him away, to make himself believe Alois will always put Claude in the first place and discard everyone else, him included.

Alois won't allow him to convince himself of that. He doesn't want Ciel to curl up in his little shelter of false convinctions. He wants Ciel to have faith in him, for a fucking change.] He was able to do that because he was all there was in my world. I spent four years talking to nobody else but him, he was everything I lived for.

But that was before I started caring so much about you. [Can't you feel Alois' gaze burning in the back of your head, Ciel? He really wants you to look in his eyes now.] Stay on my side Ciel, please. If you do, he won't be able to control me.

Why did you start caring, Alois? Because you were convinced that Sebastian killed your brother? Isn't that the only reason you did everything you did to me and to him?

[Perhaps this place has made him too soft where all these matters are concerned. It can't last forever.]

That was a very long time ago, Ciel. It was a long time before I turned you into a demon. Isn't the fact that you are here, rather than in Sebastian's stomach, enough proof of how much I care? [It doesn't matter how many times Ciel refuses to open up to him, Alois will never give up.] I am on your side then.

You... the only reason you know anything about me is because of the fact our souls were in the same body. Before then... you knew nothing. There is not any reason why you should have stayed or interested or said anything other than to extract revenge on Sebastian.

I don't need anyone on my side.

But I know everything now, and I would never betray you. [He can only feign so much, after all. Tears are already forming at the corners of his eyes.] Not when I know you're right about Claude. [And he's sobbing now, because it's been a way too emotionally-heavy day. He didn't want Ciel to know what he found out about Claude. He knows the more he talks about it, the more he'll cry about it. And he needs to be strong. He needs to give Claude the right orders to keep him away from his brother and to make sure he himself doesn't get fucking killed again. But he can't do it all on his own. He had Hannah on his side, first. Now he has only Ciel.]

... [Right about Claude? Of course he's fucking right about that pathetic filthy rat. He's like a bug to Ciel, waiting to be crushed underneath his thumb and he's all too eager to find the opportunity to do it. He wants Claude to suffer.]

Of course I am right. Are you so dense you thought your butler actually cared about your wellbeing and happiness?

No Ciel, you don't understand! [And he takes Ciel's hand, more for his own comfort than to actually get his attention.] The last thing he remembers is-- is killing me. I don't know how, but he lost all his other memories. [And he's crying so hard now he can barely speak.]

Highly doubt anyone took the invitation seriously.

Then I suppose this works in my favor.

It's not official until you say 'Simon Says'....everyone knows that.

Calm down. Crying about it won't change it -- That just means I will have to have Sebastian deal with him when he arrives.

[Really nothing says WELCOME TO MY ABODE like trying to murder someone upon arrival. But he's very tempted to try.]

With the worst of the cold and flu season behind us and allergy season ahead? Sure.

But I don't want him to die. [He still loves him too much for that.] But I don't want to die either. I don't know what I want. [And despite what Ciel might say, he's still crying. Also gripping Ciel's hand hard enough to hurt.]

I take it your patients are frustrating.

They come other ways? I thought it was a myth.

[He really doesn't like this at all. Alois cries too much. He withdraws his hand forcefully and gives him a stern look.]

Idiot. Do you really think I'd let that happen? Who cares if Claude dies? Honestly, it's all he deserves.
