[This post is nothing but a video file download, named only for a date about a month in the past. It's not posted like a normal video entry recorded specifically for the Network, because it comes from Curt's personal collection.
Anyone stupid enough (or voyeuristic enough) to actually watch something something from Curt's personal video collection. Is treated to a totally innocuous clip of Curt making goofy faces with Stephen laughing in the background.
"Say hi to the camera," says Curt, pointing the camera in the other direction.
Stephen, bass in hand, waves.
"We should make a music video or something. Or just have Neil get all our gigs on...digital? Yeah. And not just the bigger concerts, cuz--"
The video cuts off suddenly and then back to a view mostly of Curt's hand. "Yeah, it's off now," which is clearly a lie because when Curt's hand moves away, there's a tilted and slightly obstucted view of his bed, with Stephen in the middle. And when Curt pounces it's clear that yes, this is exactly that kind of video and this is probably the point when you should stop watching unless you didn't get enough of Stephen's relatively furry chest during the curse a few weeks ago. After a few minutes of increasingly steamy shirtless makeouts, Curt is really close to getting Stephen's pants off when Stephen happens to look up.
"Dude, it is not off, the light is still on."
"What? No, it shouldn't be recording." Curt sighs. "I'll check." And after a nice view of (clothed) rock star crotch, the video ends.]

Stephen waits until the feed ends, puts his device down carefully, and quickly heads to the bathroom, locking the door behind him. Okay, calming breaths. All that staying calm and ration and not hyperventilating stuff doctors keep telling him about. He can do this.

[Curt is genuinely confused for a second, mostly because this seems out of nowhere. The only reason nobody's said that phrase to him before is mostly due to the fact that its harder to miss someone getting you on actual film. But it's not like he's attempted to secretly record Stephen so many times that he can't figure it out eventually.]

[He scratches the back of his head a bit awkwardly. He's not mad, not really. Well maybe just a little, but Curt didn't know that stuff was going to get broadcast everywhere. He certainly feels an invasion of privacy, but at least most of the panic is over with. Some if it.]

I...didn't put that there. It wasn't even on my phone-thing, it was on the other thing. Which I guess is connected to all the stuff, but still.
[The other thing is his laptop, 'all the stuff' is the Network. Curt's tenuous grasp on technology tends to desert him in times of stress. Not that he cares, except to the extent that Stephen is unhappy.]

It's going to happen one way or the other. I don't think there's any point in worrying about something that's inevitable--or even most things that aren't, but that doesn't mean I ever forget what's what.

Next time just let me know when the camera's on. And maybe save it on a dvd.

I'll erase it or delete it or whatever. Actually, maybe you should, my usual way of doing anything with the Network is to push a lot of buttons until something happens.
