Hey everyone, welcome to the City. In honor of this crazy fucking door, Time Bomb, the City's most awesome and also only rock band, and I, Curt Wild, will be holding an open jam session at the Blue Light, from now until they kick us out. A limited range of random instruments will be available for those who didn't happen to wander here with their own. Come play or come watch or just come over and say hi.

[Scene: Demyx standing near the rest of Time Bomb, occasionally stepping a few feet away from them. He plays a couple of notes of his sitar for anyone passing by who looks interested, which is really just anyone passing by.

He keeps looking around every so often, almost as if expecting to meet someone. But he still grins widely at everyone that he plays for.]

So, are we going all night or what?

[OoC: BTW, wasn't your girl!post 2? This should be Curt's third.]

[You say "rock band," and there's one person who will appear for sure. Neil can be found slouching nervously in a corner, eyes fixed pretty sternly on one of the available bass guitars. But he doesn't move an inch, other than to rub at the back of his neck.]

Neil! Neil with the hair. [As opposed to other Neil and that other other Neil.]

Are you just going to stare at it?

Yeah, as long as we can manage. Door or not you never really know if everyone's just going to be forced home again suddenly so may as well make the best of it.

[ooc: haha good catch.]

[Wow, Curt remembers him. Neil never expects to me remembered, somehow, so he can't help but grin a little.]

Hey.

Uh, I mean. I've been practising back home, but... it's just, I'm not so good yet.

No one else is exactly lining up to play the bass right now. You might as well give it a shot.

Uh... guess you're right.

[Apparently Neil was just waiting for some kind of invitation, because now he's quick to snatch up the instrument and start fiddling with it.]

Hey, this is already tuned pretty good.

[He hesitates, and then starts into something it seems like he's practised before. He fumbles a little on a couple of notes, but his rhythm is good. Basically, he's not great, but he's not altogether bad either.

He breaks in the middle of the bassline to look up, obviously searching for approval.]

Yeah, it's fine kid.

[Which is about as much encouragement as Curt is capable of giving. Not that he doesn't want to encourage young talent etc., it's just not in his nature.]

Life outside the City going good for you, then?

[Not that Curt remembers anything about Neil's life or interests, except for the fact that he's Stephen's friend, but it seems polite to ask as well as possibly a way to pry into what's up with his ex.]

[Neil smiles at even this small approval, and keeps his fingers walking.]

S'okay. My friend's been beating up all these evil dudes. And I mean, that happened before I came here, too, but it was more of an Elite Beat Agents thing, like with music and dance moves but you're still saving the world, y'know? [Neil plays something that sounds like 90s pop music, but then quickly transitions to something darker.] But now it's a more serious, like, Guilty Gear sorta deal. I'm just hoping it doesn't go Mortal Kombat anytime soon or whatever.

[Curt makes this face times a million. He forgets, sometimes, that a lot of the people who aren't him come from worlds that are actually kind of strange, if not as strange as the City. In this case a lot of the references might be some sort of future-thing (or Canadian-thing) but still. Weird.]

When your friend is battling evil dudes does that mean you have to battle evil dudes also?

[Neil's face lights up at this.]

I've helped before! In RPG terms, I guess you could say I'm in his party. Or, I'm at least summonable. I guess we all are.

I have no idea what that means.

[Neil's brow furrows. How could he not understand? People from other worlds sure are weird.]

Y'know, like... your party is the people you always battle with, and they get to attack or heal or whatever every turn. But you can also summon other people or creatures once per battle, and they use a special ability just one time.

I dunno which one I am, but I guess Stephen and Kim are probably in the party since they're in the band.

I remember Kim from when she showed up here. She was all right.

[And 'all right' in a girl drummers are cool way, not a neutral way.]

So...what's-his-name is fighting evil dudes and part of being in a band with him is helping out with that, but you hang out with them all so sometimes you're called on to do something?

Kim's cool.

[He nods.]

Yeah, 's pretty much like that. D'you not have that where you're from?

The closes I can think of is when I started ragging on all those bikers who showed up at another show to throw stuff at the band and then one of them knocked me out. The other Rats didn't actually help me out, though and then we broke up pretty much right after.

But yeah, that's not normal and I gotta admit I'm loud and aggressive, but I can't fight worth a damn.
