I am not..certain.. [The confused voice is followed shortly by a confused face. An upside-down confused face. The man considers the device a moment, looking it over as if trying to solve a great puzzle.]

It reminds me of one of Lucca's devices.

[More inspecting and the device is turned a few more times.]

Which should mean, if I remember her words accurately...ah! [The video is righted and he smiles.] This would be the correct way for it.

And then...oh [slight blush.] My apologies...this device is already on, is it not? I did not mean to seem so lost, though, I suppose there is no hiding what is undeniably true. Could someone, perhaps, tell me where or when I am?

[A perky pink haired girl shows up on the device, all smiles. He seems rather kind and polite, so she thought it only right to help him and answer his questions.]

As for where you are, you're in the City. I can tell you that you are no longer in your world anymore if you don't recognize it. However, I cannot tell you from 'when' you are from, since we are all taken from different points in time from our specific worlds.

'The City?' An odd name, yet I thank you for your help. I do not doubt this is a time different from my own.

It may very well be, but why do you say that? Do you come from a world where you travel in time? I've read books about time travelers before, but never did I think they existed!

[She doesn't quite believe that he is a time traveler, but given the different kinds of people she has met here, people that she thought only existed in her fantasy world of books, well, she wouldn't be surprised!]

Well, I would not say that it is a normal occurrence, but certain events did lead to some friends and I having a number of adventures through time. However, the methods with which we were able to do this have been closed to us, I did not think it would happen again.

Closed? Oh, so was it an ability someone had to allow you to travel or perhaps what I have heard as a "rift in time"?

[She's really curious about this and would love to know all about this!]

Ah! Yes, actually, we called them gates. My friend, Miss Lucca, said they were gates that led to different eras. We also had a machine that could transcend time, however, Miss Lucca had intentions of dismantling it last we spoke.

[He's never had a chance to discuss this with anyone who understood what he was talking about, it was nice oppertunity.]

Gates... Machines... that sounds absolutely amazing, like out of some sort of futuristic novel, though I suppose I have seen such devices used in fantasy novels as well.

Oh, not to compare your adventures to books I've read, my apologies.

[Though her own adventure was like out of a book too... she'd have no problem comparing it to one, in all honestly.]

Oh, no need to apologize, my lady. Truthfully, there are times when I am not entirely certain I did not dream the whole thing up, though I know I could not have.

Comparing it to that of a futuristic fairy tale is exactly what I would have done had someone told it to me instead.

Is that so. Perhaps the way you describe it in that sense almost makes it that much easier for me to envision. I imagine it must have been a grand adventure, especially traveling through time. Did you have to travel back in time, or forward?

[She's all to in to this now, envisioning exactly what this was like, probably exaggerating everything in her mind. Still, to have her imagination run wild like this through hearing someone else's adventure, she quite enjoys it.]

Both, actually. I was able to see the far future as well as the distant past, it was thrilling but also opened my eyes to many new things and possibilities.

[He bows his head, the only way to bow without being directly in front of her. As much as he was enjoying the conversation, he was a knight first and an individual second.]

That would be amazing to go into the past and see the history one has read about, and yet see the future, and see how what we are doing today will impact it. It must have been quite eye-opening as you said. I wonder what it would be like to travel into the future of my world, if only to see if the choices that I have made were the right ones.

[Oh, and pardon her manners as well. She also bows her head in response.]

"Where" would be The City. However, the "when" is a bit more difficult to answer.

Yes, well, I suppose it doesn't truly matter in the grand scheme of things. Certainly if I can find no way back.

Traveling into the future was precisely what put my friends and I onto our quest. What we saw was a future of destruction and apocalypse. Once we were able to ascertain what had caused that future, we set about to stop it. I am happy to say we succeeded.

Ah, indeed, most will require an extensive part of you reading the guide, especially when it pertains to this advanced technology. I, too, am quite out of my element when comparing this City to my own world.

I find that amazing that you were entrusted with the future you were shown, by that I mean you were trusted to fix such a future knowing the cause. Whomever gave you that ability to see that must have trusted you greatly and known you had such power.

Ah, hold on a minute... let's see. [He fiddled with the device and within a few minutes a file was sent over labeled "guide".]

There. It should be in that device of yours. Though I assume you'd still require assistance in retrieving it. If that's the case, I was planning on heading to the market. If you'd like to accompany me, you're more than welcome to and could teach you the basics.

And, as I understand it, the discovery was made quite by accident. I was not with them, but some friends of mine from my own future found out about their future threw a mishap and then picked me up to join them the next time they arrived in my era.

They helped me with something and I, in turn, joined them. Though, I suppose there is one man who 'gave us power' as you said. I believe he thought we had it in us.

So, your friends you made on your journey were from the future? [That does sound like it would be from a book, too! She's sure she's read something like this before, though she wouldn't be able to recall everything on the top of her head. Perhaps if she thought about it a little more.]

He must have seen that you had the heart to save the world. [She remembers hearing those words, that a heart alone cannot save the world, but one needs the heart to save it. That, she sees, as a kind of power.]

Most. There was one from the past as well. [A small smile crossed his face as his thoughts went to the energetic cave-woman. As blunt as she could be, he had always enjoyed her company.]

Perhaps so. May I ask what sort of time you are from? Or...well, even what sort of world. I suppose even that could be different in a place such as this.

I have yet to move far from the fountain. I must admit, I am a bit cautious; this is a much larger city than I am used to.

[To have companions from all different times. That sounds like it would be an amazing experience. Just a simple nod to acknowledge that, but the expression she is wearing gives away that, well, it's something she would find fun to experience herself in her world.]

Time? I suppose in my world we were at a time where the technology we are using was slowly bringing the world to a decline, and people were abusing it as well. While it was essential to our everyday lives, we also could learn to live without it.
