[Jim has found a wall, one at the farthest edge of the glass city, nearest the desert. His hands are pressed against the glass, his face not far away, watching what bit of the chaos he can see through the glass. As for the device, it's in his pocket, and he doesn't realize it's on, or that everyone might hear him say:]

Boy, I'm glad I'm not out there.

[Though with the way he said it, it's almost like he's trying to convince himself that whatever horrible situation is outside that wall really isn't much more exciting than being trapped in here.]

[A voice of a child? While she is indeed enjoying her time out in the desert fighting, there is not a chance that a child should be out here.]

If you are incapable of fighting, then you should truly be grateful the deities have locked you where you are, assuming you are in the glass city.

[Rose is stuck in the glass city as well, however, she's not as pleased about that. Her Doctors are out there in the desert. She wanders up next to Jim and sits down, forehead to the glass as well.]</small< Know anyone out there?

[And his pocket just talked to him. That was a little surprising. Easy enough to figure out, though.]

[He glances at her, then back out to the land beyond the glass. It seems like most of the people he's been living with the past couple days are out there, too.]

[Somehow it makes him smile, not that she can see it.]

[ There's a crackle of static and she laughs. ] Don't cut yourself on all that glass.

Yeah. [She nods emphatically.] Two of the most important people in my whole life are out there.

You are but a child. I would not expect you to be on the battlefield.

[Her words still sting, but she means well. Children are taught to fight, but shouldn't be forced into battle until they are ready.]

I think I'd have to break it first. [Don't give him ideas...]

[He is really not amused, either.]

[Rose shrugs, trying to make light of it.] They're tryin' to get back here and bring some other people with 'em.

[She looks over and smiles a bit at the boy.] M'Rose Tyler. What's your name?
