[ The feed starts with an unoccupied frame; the image of a small but well-organized kitchen. The doors to the pantry and the cabinets above and below the counter top are all open revealing a well-stocked reserve of food. Plentiful as the stores may be, it seems as though something is missing.

Al steps into the frame to close the cabinets before he addresses the screen. ]

Around here they take people, maybe some dignity here and there if you let 'em...but petty theft? Nobody likes a thief whether it's a curse or just some chump acting alone. Who makes off with pots and pans without making a sound?

[ This is problematic, not just for a hungry man, but for one that finds relaxation in the act. It's a reprieve from work, which has been profitable as of late. ]

These past few weeks haven't been easy on anyone, so in exchange for borrowing some cookware I'm more than happy to pay the generosity forward. I can cook any kind of real food, whatever you're craving or you miss from home.

[ He contemplates this offer for a moment. Home has a different spectrum here, he has come to find. ]

If it can't be done, well, there's always spaghetti.

Nah. Like mac and cheese. Dump the noodles in boiling water and then add powdered cheese stuff, a little bit of milk and butter.

[In exactly twenty nine minutes, he'll arrive at Al's apartment, arms laden with pots and pans. He doesn't knock so much as bump the door with his elbow -- his hands are too full.]

[ He's not watching the clock, but Meyer's a timely sort of guy. The light knock at the door catches his attention and he opens the door, pistol not aimed, but at the ready.

It's tucked back into his holster once he recognizes the face. ]

Hey. You really came through.

[ Al steps aside to let Meyer and his mass of cookware in, surveying it carefully. ]

[He raises an eyebrow at the gun a little, even as he heads into Al's kitchen to set the cookware down on the counter so Al can go through it.]

Yeah, I said I would. Figure you have more use for it than I do.

[ He picks up each item to look it over, generally approving of what Meyer has brought. Already there's more of a balance to the house. ]

They'll do. Make yourself at home, I'll cook something up.

[He'd been planning on dropping off the stuff and heading back to his own apartment, but if Al's offering to cook, there's no way he's turning that down. Sitting down at the table, he immediately lights a cigarette.]

Anyone else say they'd noticed their things going missing?

Some guy came around earlier looking pretty desperate for water. Tried to give him some and the faucet ran dry.

[ Now the water is set to boil as he starts to collect some ingredients from the cabinets. ]

Other than that, haven't heard a thing.

[Never content to sit idly, he tries to peer at what ingredients Al's taking out of the cabinets.]

Noodles with some walnut sauce. It's simple, but sometimes simple tastes twice as good as anything fancy.
