[Angela's sitting cross-legged on a sofa in an apartment that if anybody knew her well enough can tell that's not hers. One, the wall colors are in neutrals and there's no amount of controlled chaos around. What gives it away especially is a grey cat in her lap snoozing, and even though she is not a fan of them, Angela can't bear to move it. Her device is propped up so her hands are free to write things down on a nearby clipboard.]

The worst part of coming and going here isn't the coming back, it's coming back and realizing there are things you should already know, but you can't remember. I hate not remembering things. My life experiences are so important to me; I want to look back and go "Yeah, that was fantastic how we got arrested." but when I can't remember faces, much less names or events...

[It pisses her off. But she's not going to say that much out loud.]

So here's your mission, should you choose to accept it: tell me things about us I should remember. Doesn't matter if it's big or small. If we went to the beach together and almost got eaten by sharks, great! Or not so great, but still that's useful to me.

And if we didn't do anything together, lie to me. Make something up. It's not like I'll know the difference.

[She sighs softly and finishes her drink. As bad as she agrees with him, she should really let him know what he's in for before things go too far.]

You hadn't exactly brought it up, no.

[And it would have been kind of rude to proposition her on a first date, anyway. He takes a sip of his drink, then shrugs.]

Doesn't mean I can't get to know you in other ways, right? You don't gotta sleep with someone to like 'em.

[Rude for him. Angela has no trouble sleeping with somebody on the first date. It's her body, her rules.]

No, but I just want you to know in case you were expecting something else. If the shoe was on the other foot, I would like to know.

[So she could either decide to stick it out or make other arrangements. Ahem.]

[Neither does he, but most people he's brought it up with seem pretty scandalized. He tries to play it a little safer now.]

Well, I guess you should know that I'm not celibate. Just as long as we're bein', y'know, open 'n honest about our sex lives.

[No need to. She's a lot more liberal than he gives her credit for. The women of the future are of a very different breed.]

So are you sleeping with someone? Not that I care, but I don't want to get yelled at by some random woman or man.

[Yes, she did said man. Enjoy that that implication.]

[That's not the first time someone's asked him if he's sleeping with a man. He's not sure what that means.]

Yeah, I am. A woman. Women. Not guys. They're not the type to yell about anythin' like that.

A woman or women? More than one? On a regular basis?

[Angela's purely curious now.]

Yeah, more than one, 'n semi-regularly, I guess. When we feel like it.

[Nothing serious, in other words. He and relationships don't always go so well together.]

[Angela just shrugs. Curiosity sated.]

Seemed like the kinda thing that woulda come back to bite me in the ass if I hadn't been.

It would have. [She smirks.] I would have broken the rest of your fingers.

Well, that woulda been a pity. I kinda like havin' the ability to use one hand, at least.

[He'd make a joke here about what he could do with one hand, but she'd just said she was celibate... there's still a tiny smirk on his face, though.]

[Just because she's celibate doesn't mean her hormones and imagination aren't working overtime.]

Too bad you still have one working hand. You could have called me for favors.

Don't get your hopes up too high. [She can't promise him anything either way. She does intend to try her best to meet a challenge, but at the same time, Angela was never very good at ignoring temptation.]

[No, he occasionally can't resist innuendo. It's one of his failings. Or charms, depending on how you look at it.]

[He left the door open on that one.]

[Even he has to admit that he'd left a pretty convenient opening for that comment.]

Nah, it's because I wouldn't wanna challenge your vow of celibacy too much.

How about you let me worry about what challenges me or not?
