(no subject)

I have an announcement, and it may not come as such good news.

We have determined the cause of the illness, and the issues that have plagued the City. Our side has worked diligently, and it is not the clock, it is not the barrier.

It is the removal of the curses.

So it is with a heavy heart that I inform you that the curses must resume, to keep the Citizenry well. However, we found something, through this trial, so all is not for naught, but we need you.

There may be a way to permanently disable the curses and keep the City stable. But we are not enough. We need you. We need your minds and your abilities, to help us. We will be, soon, arranging for missions and trips, quests and expiditions, in the coming time, and for those, your aid will be needed.

We can stop this.

We can, together.

I'm hardly surprised. What, exactly, are these "missions and trips" going to entail? How much more aid can we possibly render?

A great deal of us pitched in to help rebuild the City after the... rebellion.

Hardly. But the way I see it, a fair amount of people're going to find this whole return to curses pretty disappointing.

Not surprising. It does need to eat after all.

That may be true. There're those who'll think that you intended for this to happen all along.

Can you provide any proof of that?

Have you? One of the easiest ways to obfuscate is to present just enough information to make people feel that they're in the loop.

City's 'alive' and the popular theory is it feeds upon the emotions produced by curses.
recognize_an_opportunity: (I'm not sure about this)

I think there's a distinct possibility.

Based on the poor shape of the environment and some of those within it, one that may have some truth to it.

[ Wait. What? ]

People were getting sick because you got rid of the curses? [ How does that cause sickness? ]

How does removing the curses make everyone sick?

Unless the City is sentient. And the curses were a form of 'self-regulation' to balance the environment's negatives and positives.

I certainly hope so.
