Hey.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know exactly what the ticking thing is? The point of it all? I realize it's a clock and seems to be linked the merry go round in the center there, but does anyoe know anything else about it?

[Yes that is creepy. No he didn't mean it like that.]

[That's a little strange. Not strange enough that he doesn't go and open his door, though, looking a little bemused.]

[Theo's grinning.]

I've got good news for you. And a gift from Al and I.

[He holds up a box. Inside the box is hideous tie. See that explains why he's meeting him at the door right? A tie?]

[He opens the box, looks inside, and laughs.]

Just what I always wanted. How'd you know?

We had a long and serious talk about it. Deeply delving into your character and personality as we stretched out all the possibilities on what would make a good gift for you.

[Somehow Theo manages to say that with a straight face. It helps that his sunglasses are hiding his eyes.]

Well, since I wear a tie every day, it was a good choice. I really think the colors suit me.

[Look, he's speaking with a straight face, too.]

They have to suit someone, it might as well be you.

[Yo straight face.]

I'll put it on right now.

[And he actually does, undoing the blue paisley tie he's wearing and putting this abomination on. Hey, it's his birthday, he can wear a hideous tie if he wants, right?]

[Of course he can. That's the point of hideous ties, isn't it?]

You're going to knock people dead.

Hopefully not literally, as I blind their eyes with this color combination.

[It really is pretty awful. He's amused. It makes for a decent birthday present, at the very least.]

I wouldn't know.

[He taps his sunglasses. Theo had to take off his sunglasses to see them properly while shopping Meyer. He nearly blinded himself so you could blind people with it! I hope you're happy.]

But at least you won't forget who gave it to you and why!

Yeah, happy birthday to me, right?

[Truthfully, he'd almost forgotten it was his birthday until Theo had shown up with a present.]

You say it's from you and Al, but I don't see Al. What, he didn't want to be seen giving it to me?

Oh no. He's dealing with the good news.

Well... sort of. We found someone who wants to audition to be a singer for Lucky's.

He's busy setting that up for you. You know, talking to the girl. Getting all her information down. Possibly asking her out on a date. That sort of stuff.

[Theo is a remarkably good liar.]

Oh? Who is she?

[He finds it believable enough, although he doubts she'll be as good as Ruby.]

You know, I didn't catch her name.

[He sounds surprised at this lack of thought on his end.]

She was really nice looking though.

Yes, well, I imagine Al wouldn't have noticed her if she hadn't been nice looking.

He could have noticed her for other qualities.

[Theo has a harder time keeping a straight face saying that.]

Yeah, sure he could have.

[There's no straight face here.]

[Hey. He tried to indicate that Al may have had other interests in things besides a woman's looks.]

She could have a good talent with mixing drinks.

[Oookay. There goes the face.]

Yeah, that's probably it.

[A pause.]

Anyway, thanks for the birthday present. I'll see you around the casino soon, yes?

[He still has to get ready for work. He hadn't been expecting a birthday present to arrive.]

Yeah. And Al should have the girl all ready for you, so you can just sit down and listen to her sing.

There's cake too. But that'll be for later. Glad you like the tie.

I'll be right there. I just need to get a few things.

[His cigarettes. His gun. His suit jacket. All the important things, really.]

It is a clock, as you said. In fact, it is the Clock.

And the story I was told when I first arrived six years ago is that it counts down what little time is left until the destruction of every world in existence--yours, mine, and everyone else's. But, ostensibly, our suffering through the curses is what keeps the thing wound and ticking and perhaps even buys us a little time before the Apocalypse.

Does that answer your question?

Soo... wouldn't the fact that the clock stopped for that short period of time the other day mean that everything was already destroyed?
