And then I am going to yoga. [ She needs to relax. ]

Got another stabber coming in. Woman at the hospital reported it. I thought we should at least follow up, make sure it was curse-related.

I can't work this one for personal reasons, anyone want to take it?

[ ooc: Korra stabbed Chekov, Uhura reported it, and Lin's bringing her in. Yep. ]

[Korra had left Li's apartment mid-Saturday morning, intending to head straight home and confess everything to Lin.

She doesn't actually make it to the beach house until the wee hours of Monday morning. That nice new outfit Li got her is dirty and ripped. She quiets the worried Naga, not wanting to wake up Jinora and Tohru, and then very, very carefully, knocks on Lin's bedroom door.]

[ Lin wakes very quickly - that's a skill you learned while policing, that and the ability to sleep anywhere for brief periods of time. ]

[ She throws on a robe and answers the door. No one would be knocking unless it was important. ]

[Korra tries to smile. It doesn't actually reach her face.]

Chief...

[Help.]

[ She can tell that Korra hasn't been staying away purposefully, like she'd thought at first. It makes her feel even less happy about the issue. ]

Come in here so you don't wake anyone, and tell me everything.

[Korra nods and slips inside.

Once the door is safely closed, she can't help blurting it out.]

I killed Chekov.

[ Lin is not immediately sure how to respond to that. Her hesitation is evident. ]

[ Finally, she puts an arm on Korra's shoulder. ]

Why did you do that?

[anatural]

I-I don't know. [Her voice gets tighter, more high pitched with fear and frustration.]

We were fighting, and I went back into the house, and I just...grabbed a knife and... [She chokes, unable to get the words out.]

There seems to have been an epidemic of that lately. A curse, I've been told. [ Her brow creases; she sounds a bit sad at the thought, even though all of the victims were up and walking around now. It still bothered her. She squeezed Korra's shoulder and let her hand fall awkwardly. ]

It may be a good idea to go down to the station and explain it to the officers. It was reported, and we should do a follow-up.

[A small, childish part of her wants to ask: Am I in trouble? But that's a stupid question. Of course she's in trouble. She killed her best friend.

She nods, concentrating on her breathing to keep from crying again. It's bad enough that she sobbed all over Li earlier. She doesn't want to fall apart in front of the Chief as well.]

[ Lin softens, just a bit. Would you like to clean up a bit first? We're already days late, another hour won't matter.

[Clean up? Korra looks down, half-expecting to see Chekov's blood all over her. But no, that had been washed off at Li's apartment. She's just dirty and sweaty from days Underground.

Crap.]

You have to keep an eye on Jinora and Tohru. [Why does everything have to happen at once?!?!] I pissed some people off in the Underground. I tried to make sure they didn't follow me home, but they might figure out where I live anyway.

[ Lin nods firmly. You can't doubt a stance like that. ]

Of course. I'll make sure no one is hanging around that shouldn't be. The Underground has been restless lately.

action;

[anatural]

[Yeeeeeah. At least a little of that is possibly her fault. (Not as much as she thinks, though. Korra's still young enough to think she's the cause of everything.)]

Thanks.

[She doesn't want to wake anyone, so she skips a shower and settles for getting into clean clothes.]

[ Lin will be waiting when she returns. Korra looks a little better, at least. She could use some sleep, in Lin's opinion. But that will have to wait for now. ]

A friend of mine will do the interview. [ Apparently she made this post while she was waiting. Whether or not Justin counts as a friend is a bit questionable, but she's not good at connecting to people, really. ] Don't worry too much.
